Just donate what you would have spent on the ticket on here:

Well that's odd, trying to post the link to Stan's go fund me page and it won't show.

We as Rangers fans should be ashamed if there isn't a decent attendance for this game, real and virtual. I've just bought a couple of tickets for Arsenal friends who remember Stan fondly. The place should be full ffs.

I'm not going but my dad is. I can only speak for myself but to me it's not much more than any other friendly as, despite seeing clips and hearing all the stories, I have great respect for the team Stan played for but I can't love the bloke like I would if I was 60.

In 40 years when an obese and skint Adel Taarabt needs a testimonial I may feel what you guys do now.

(Not intended as a Bowles-Taarabt comparison).

@durbar2003 I'm not unsympathetic at all. It's a horrible disease. I'm just saying I don't have that same empathy with Stan that you guys do.

You should go out of respect, Watford. Or maybe just buy a virtual ticket?

I didn't know such a thing existed. I'll probably do that whatever it is or donate.

Is it just the first team or are there ex-players involved?

Sorry, I shouldn't have pressured you like that. I'm sure there will be a lot of ex players there. It'll be an emotional occasion.

Fair call Wats. I for one have immense respect, and sympathy, for those who started following the Rs after our brief moment of being genuinely ****ing good. At least us old gits have got some good memories, Stan being foremost amongst them for me.

For all that are going, I'm aiming for C&S around 12:30. Feel free to make yourself known with the traditional "what you having?" greeting...

Don Shanks was on the Robert Elms Show on Saturday talking about Stan. There were some good stories & memories of him recalled both on & off the pitch. As mentioned in the article posted above this will be Stan's last trip to W12, he will soon be going into a home & requiring full time care, but he is properly skint.
I was lucky enough to have a season ticket with my dad at Loftus Rd for most of the seventies & it was a privilege to have seen Stan play.
I really hope Rangers fans of all generations will turn out in force to support this match. Stan Bowles is a true QPR legend.

The website says that 'supporters are advised to purchase their tickets in advance' so I guess that means you probably can buy on the day...

    Agree Watford
I have seen many posts on other sites of fans complaining but they have to realise that although he was the greatest player at our club times have moved on and many Rangers fans will only know him in name and have never seen. It is nearly 40 years since he played for us and I can understand how some younger fans cannot relate to that. Bloody hell, even I was a kid when he played! I hope a lot of tickets will be sold but I won't castigate fans who have other commitments.

I was lucky enough to see him play at his height. In all seriousness, were he playing today, we'd be talking about him in the same bracket as Bale, Messi, etc. He really was that good, that natural, and that special.

Given that Kyle Walker is worth 45 million, what would Stan be worth today?

To the game's shame, we become detached from the players because they are all millionaires now and we can't grasp that. Stan has no money, and really, really needs help. If not from us, then from who? I'm delighted I can do my little bit to help a true master of the game, and the greatest ever QPR player.
