    He also said Mane was having a medical at Spurs the day he signed for us, so, not reliable imo.

    Toby has to sign for us because I love him too much to sign for Spurs. He could well become a Saints legend that boy.

    Toby is the one player of the recent rumoured departures that I can find no weakness in at all. So I'll be hugely disappointed if we don't pull this off. Spurs signing him would just be rubbing salt into sore wounds!!

    Di Marzio is usually spot on unfortunately. I know Atletico were being hard asses but if we werent willing to compete with the reported £11.4m i'd be rather disappointed, especially considering we should've had 1.5-2.5m advantage over Spurs.

    very disappointed if we don't at least match Spurs, if Toby then chooses Spurs over us then we have done all we can.......we then wet the bed and move on.
    Just hope the black box has a suitable replacement lined up.

    Given that it wont take a stupidly, outrageously, high transfer fee to sign Toby, I have every confidence that we will match whatever Spurs offer Madrid for Toby.

    At the same though, I also strongly believe that Spurs will offer Toby more than we could/will, and thus ultimately he will join them.

    Disappointing, and potentially damaging for our season ahead, but something I would totally be able to accept. Spurs are able to offer higher wages than we can, and why shouldn't Toby seek out the best deal possible for himself?

    I don't think the fee is an issue at all. It will all be down to if Toby wants to go to Spurs or not. Simon Peach on Twitter says that Southampton are still very much in for Toby. If it comes down to wages, and purely that, then you would think he'd go to Tottenham, unfortunately.

    Basically we're relying now on Toby's head being switched on, and Koeman-power.

    It's a big ask, but not impossible...

    If he DOES join us under those circumstances, he's an insta-legend.
