Weird thing is though, I thought the reason United didnt get Morata was because Real were asking for £80m for him and United didnt want to meet their price.
So how come they then sell him to us for £60m?!

Well from what we have seen and heard in the last 48 hours it has become clear what happened at Chelsea regarding Lukaku and Conte.
Conte always wanted Morata as his first choice, I am positive of this.
But I think Roman and maybe other folk at Chelsea wanted Lukaku.
Their bickering is why we never bid for Lukaku until the final hour, when he had all but signed for United.
Reading from more than a few sources that the club were trying to strong arm Conte into signing Lukaku, but Conte was worried about his lack of work off the ball, and thats what the beef was with Conte and why his contract took so long to sort out.
Once Lukaku to United was done, Conte got his way, and signed a new deal and got his man (Morata).

 

On the contrary, he was stirring for a move and now he can have it. I fully support Tony C on this.

 

Whatever the situation, Morata will be a better option for us imo.
