Doesn't make good reading. Chinese ownership makes me very nervous but that's standard for a Saints fan
I'm quite relaxed about it, to make money out of us they will invest more, it's after they did that I will worry as at some point we are likely to be sold off again.
Don't see too much to worry about. Any separate ownership of AC and Inter are going to be bound up in troubles considering they both share a huge asset of a stadium, and will typically want to do things that suit each of them only. Saints are a totally different and straightforward case.
Got told today that Charlie is not happy being on the bench and getting no starts........will consider his options in January if no change....
it's a shame that he doesn't show the manager how much he should start by not drinking or partying, and turning up for extra training and looking as fit as he possibly can. If after that he is not getting starts, then make the noise about a move. Until then, act like a professional.
Totally agree. He looks heavy and when he does get game time he looks disinterested. He got a start against Wolves in the cup and really didn't put in a shift. If he wants to go then I would be glad to see him go as long as he is replaced by a proper professional goal scorer
I'd be happy for him to move on and free up his wages for a striker who suits our system better. I was thinking his wages meant we'd be stuck with him.
That really should read....would consider it if an offer came in and Saints accepted it. Like VVD, Austin is not a free agent....can't just decide to leave. As Fats said, perhaps he needs to get fitter....cannot coast on talent alone in the modern game....you have to be an athlete.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sa...sts_Gabbiadini_is_about_to_explode_____again/ Echo article pointing out that Gabbi's goals tend to come in bursts which suggests he may now go on a run. Hope so....though it helps if you play him.
For TLL's benefit! Saturday 21 October 5:30pm Southampton v West Brom (BT Sport) Referee: Graham Scott Assistants: Richard West, Mark Scholes Fourth official: Neil Swarbrick
Yay! Saints on BT, I won’t have to wrestle with SportsMania! (Interestingly, my autocorrect wanted to write Portsmouth there...)
https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-10-17/match-report-saints-btc-southampton-senior-cup Saints hosted a behind closed door match v BTC-Southampton and won 6-0 in the Hampshire Cup....Saints first appearance in this competition since 1970.
Mmm I went to see Saints play in the Hampshire Cup at the Dell when Dennis Wise was an apprentice, so I'd guess that was circa 1983/4
I have a vague memory of seeing them play in the Hampshire Cup during the mid 70s, I had body hair and a croaky voice anyway so assume it was about then.
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/15431008.Saints_back_in_the_Senior_Cup_for_centenary_season/ As you said 1983/4.
https://investobet.com/blog/southampton-showing-signs-of-infrastructural-regression This will probably trigger a few on here.
I think it's pretty spot on in fairness. For the sake of balance though, the only two things I'd question in it are the writers rather curt dismissal (or basically ignoring) the signings of Lemina and Hoedt, both of whom I think are very shrewd acquisitions. He also has a greater confidence that the manager has a set ideology than I do!
