City have won their last eight in a row, and in all they have not lost since going to Leeds on November the 24th. This impressive run has seen them climb to 6th in the league, after not having an amazing start to the year. There is no obvious star goalscorer in their side with Famara Diedhiou their top scorer on 8 goals, but they have a number of players from all positions who have chipped in with 4/5/6 goals each. Here's hoping we can be the ones to end their impressive run, but massive respect to anyone heading to Bristol on what will likely be a freezing cold Tuesday night. From the official; QPR have an opportunity to build on Saturday’s second-half performance against Birmingham but can expect a difficult match against the league’s in-form side Bristol City. After an unacceptable first period, which saw the R’s 4-1 down at half-time, Steve McClaren’s team rallied and went extremely close to securing a dramatic comeback on the weekend. However, Lee Camp’s late penalty save from Nahki Wells meant Birmingham took the three points and condemned the R’s to their fourth straight league defeat. With games coming thick and fast, Rangers have a chance to put things right at Ashton Gate but Bristol City have won their last eight fixtures in all competitions and that remarkable run of form has seen them claim a playoff position. Lee Johnson’s side are 6th in the table and coming off the back of an impressive victory at Ewood Park where they were 1-0 winners. The two teams are more than familiar with each other having met on 77 different occasions but Rangers have not beat the Robins on their home turf for over 16 years. In the reverse fixture at Loftus Road, QPR were on the end of a 3-0 defeat but both teams have significantly improved since that game which was played at the end of August 2018. Come on YOU SUPER HOOPSA!
The matches are coming think and fast. I have just about calmed down from Saturday's emotional roller coaster ride and we have a match tomorrow. Plus, we have a massive Cup match on Friday. Apart from player fatigue issues, we suddently have a formation issue. I doubt that we will start with a 4-4-2 with no protection to the back four as we saw what happended in the first half on Saturday. So it may be a 3-5-2 as the second half on Saturday, or a 4-2-3-1. As we will be playing away, I would go or a 4-2-3-1 formation. If so, it would be tough to drop Matty Smith after Saturday's perofmarmance. I admit that I am not sure what team I would field if I were Steve McClaren. I look forward to seeing any thoughts or ideas.
Four games, four tough games, in 12 days ... who knows where our confidence will be at the end; or how we will have coped with injuries or tiredness. Going to be a rollercoaster time for us all.
Just booked my ticket. First game in bloody ages, but finally, working in Bristol has coincided with a game. Who's going?
Form dictates a heavy loss. But with talismanic Woody there we might scrape a draw. At least he won’t be posting on this thread.
What do we sing these days anyway? Sir les-lie Ferdinand? Olloways blue and white army? Whatever the season?
Can't be anything but a los s. Matty Smith will be too tired injured to play...and we need him on Friday. Super cautious ...with only one striker. Going for a morale raising draw...please Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
Eze put out a semi-cryptic tweet which I took to mean he’ll play. Surely we rest Smith for this. Hemed to start for me.
We should be on for a right tonking, this evening, but we are QPR ... Besides, a win (or at least good showing) on Friday is most important.
