So to start the ball rolling. Here are the 12 youngsters we are releasing (11 released and White is to be signed by Watford after spending 3 months with them already). I believe we are well equipped in the young goalie front. Tilt I am surprised at, I heard glowing things about him (and also Fox and Omar too) Watford to sign keeper as 12 youngsters leave QPR By David McIntyre 01/05/2019 Watford are to sign teenage goalkeeper Harvey White from QPR. White, 18, has been on trial with the Premier League club. He was two years into a three-year scholarship at Rangers and is among 12 youngsters leaving. The others include Chay Tilt, who was signed from West Brom in 2017, and defender Ali Omar, who was tracked by a number of clubs before joining the R’s last summer after rejecting a new contract at Stevenage. Right-back Joe Felix, signed last year after being released by Fulham, is also leaving. The others being released are Myles Bowman, Caden Genovesi, Kraig Noel-McLeod, Mickel Platt, Aiden Mesias, Khaliq Raymond-Callender, Marcus Brooks and Charlie Fox.
Without a manager all these decisions are being made, I suppose, by Ferdinand, Ramsey and Hoos. Nowhere to hide. So Shodipo given a contract after how many appearances for anyone this year?
Believe the youth cull is something to do with Ramsey.....received this earlier... "I reckon this has something to do with Ramsey. He only wants to offer 6 month contract extensions. A lot of the youngsters are like **** that, they will go and get a 1 or 2 year contract elsewhere"
So we are potentially losing kids we might rate because we don’t want the risk of paying them if they don’t progress? Might be purely financially driven, might be lack of faith in the quality we have developed. Either way, we ain’t going to be challenging Ajax at this rate.....
I reckon Ramsey has his hands tied a little and with all the cut backs we have to make we have to let those go that we cannot sell later.
Have to agree with most of that, though I don't accept McClaren is to blame for bringing in the 3 loans last August. Hoos Ferdinand were talking loans at the last minute up most of last summer's window, when the cost was expected to be lower and knowing we could do next to nothing in January. Having lost the first 4 very, few were complaing either when we did it. If it was a wrong decision which arguably it was re Wells who really seems a luxury player at his best, it was Management's decision, Ferdinand, Hoos and McClaren together and not McClaren's alone..
I don't believe that as Shodipo has been given a year already. Also the youngsters are on 3 year scholarships which are the industry norm. This is just natural wastage I'm afraid. The development of the kids is part of the business plan as well to develop and sell on....but they have to be good enough, especially with the new training center, we will be in an even better position Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
With the new training centre maybe about to start maybe we should be looking at polish youngsters If the football doesn't work out then at least we will have a good supply of apprentice plumbers and electricians
Could you please explain the definition of, 'IN'.............. I'm not familiar with it. Thank you in advance.
Isn't that the sort of behaviour we should be avoiding? What exactly happens when you polish a youngster? (Btw, your preposition is incorrect, it should be "to" and not "at")
