He's becoming rather good.... So good, that Wallace (who I thought Warburton had bought in to be captain) can't get a sniff of first team football. Mannings' stock is definately rising - anyone know how long he has left on his contract as we need to tie him in long term?
Just hope that the 1st average game he has does not lead to Wallace being called up. Been superb this season.
Only surprise that McCarthy doesn't think he is good enough to make the Irish squad although when McCarthy watched him at game v Luton it wasnt his best game but overall Manning is having a pretty good start to the season
Manning surely has to be the surprise so far. He has come on leaps and bounds and has been said earlier, has kept a MW player out of the team. Hopefully, he will keep the levels of performance up and earn himself a new contract which I think he has already earnt
The problem is the better our youngsters play the more likely we are to be cherry-picked by the bigger Championship clubs. We need to nail him down to a new contract asap...
Well, if Stick is right he's only contracted til the end of the season - we need to tie him down for another two or three seasons, if for no other reason than to increase his sale value.....
Before this season, I thought he was very inconsistent. I didn't really rate him but could tell he had some potential. But I've been pleasantly surprised this season. He still has the odd stinker of a game and the odd defensive lapse, but on the whole he is one of our best players this season
Most of our players are playing better than they were....particularly Manning, Eze, Wells, Leistner. and the last two games BOS. Chair we knew had ability and a few new recruits have fitted in well. I would NOT want to see any of our players leave for another Championship club. Who know, by Jan we could be right up there as only 3 points off top now and we should have won at least two more games!!
Since this moment he's been my favourite Rangers player. That pass alone should have earned him a lifetime contract.
The only time we have looked average this season has been when a team has pinned him back in his own half I bet he has touched the ball as much as anyone else
SAINTS EYE QPR LEFT-BACK MANNING – WOULD IT BE A WISE MOVE? LUKE OSMAN Southampton are considering a move for QPR star Ryan Manning in the January transfer window, according to Football Insider. The 23-year-old has operated as a left-back in recent times having previously played further forward in midfield. Manning sees his current contract at Loftus Road expire in the summer, indicating that there is a chance of him departing in January for a cut-price fee..... https://readsouthampton.com/2019/10/11/saints-eye-qpr-left-back-manning-would-it-be-a-wise-move/
He wouldn't be in the first team and didn't someone say on the other thread that we had the option of a further year. I hope this is just filler for the newspapers or Manning appreciates the chance to really grow as a first team player when his opportunities until now have been frustratingly limited.
not been this season so can't comment on Ryans progress. But judging by the praise heaped on him here we need to get him to sign a new contract. Also, Southampton are in decline, so a move there would be a backward move imo
It is brilliant to see his progress. Hopefully an international call up will be on the cards soon. Keep up the good work young Ryan. It is always great to see young players especially Irish ones prosper at my club.
Whilst I am pleased to see that other clubs are taking an interest in our players, it means that they are performing, maybe he should have a word with Charlie Austin to see if Southampton are a club where your career can progress. Maybe a call to Luke Freeman - although this might be a little too early in his career up north.
