Would quite like him back. Think he is a decent player and always liked his fighting spirit. Reminded me of an “old style” centre forward. Wouldn’t say he was better than Joey but not saying he’s worse. Joey is in his first season in this country and ends time and support. Mitro also hasn’t exactly been setting the Championship on fire. If we are thinking of getting Mitro back and Ben Arfa back, is there any chance that either Shearer or Supermac might be able to come back?
Yes, he is passionate, can score goals and doesn't like to lose. Can only be positive for a squad. I have absolutely no idea why Rafa got rid, apart from his phobia of personality.
I dont think he should be our first option but lets face it he is better than joelinton and i think he could flourish with the current team. He has the experience to hit 12-15 goals in the prem.
Wouldn't be against it but not fussed either way If we're to sign former players, apart from HBA I'd love to see Merino back. He was class
For those who have said they want him back, may I remind them the quality of crosses in to the box and chances created are still the same if not worse than when he was with us so what really would he do? Joselu would provide more as at least he would chase the ball.
This essentially. I still have no formed opinion of Joe Linton. He gets no service, strikers need to receive a pass, until he gets to take shots on target, I can't judge his goalscoring ability.
I'd say Mitro is better than Joelinton but hardly Premiership quality. They're just not natural finishers.
A) Can't believe we are still having this discussion and B) can't believe people can't see Mitro is the best striker we've had since Ba and Cisse. Not setting the Championship alight but he is the top goalscorer.... Would I rather Mitro, Rondon or Joelinton?... Id take Mitro ahead of the pair of them together.
I think Joelinton shows glimpses of considerable talent. More than Mitrovic did by some distance. He's struggling because there's no midfielders, and for a 22 year old, being expected to hold the ball up for between 5 and 10 minutes to allow Shelvey/Hayden to catch up with play is just pathetically stupid from the manager. He can be a focal point for sure, and he does hold it up well at times and will get better. He needs a tweaked formation with support from a 10 to make it work, needs a player like Perez who can always find space and drop between lines. Bruce has Almiron/Max set up too wide. Joelinton's a good player. Whether he'll be able to show it in this team is another matter.
My bad. In fairness to me I did quickly check the goal scorers in the Championship but have somehow missed him at the top of the list. Perhaps wasn't expecting him to be top and, therefore, didn't see him.
Strike force of Mitrovic & Carroll, not guaranteed goals, but there would be no defenders left in oppposing teams by the second half of the season.
