Given that the groups are over, that's quite hard to argue with!
Who do you have progressing in groups C and D, though?

 

obvs d was going to be juve and Atletico

group c is man city and who gives a **** really there was never going to be an upset in that group

im saying this as a neutral fan , so maybe it's different if you support a side that's in it , but i think the seeding aspect of it ruins it somewhat for a neutral.

a couple of groups of death would be better imo , but t's set up so that can never happen

just my opinion as an outsider of course

The Premier league was reduced from 24 to 20 teams because the top 4 teams were getting "tired" from playing too many game, bless
The immediate response was to introduce the Group Stages for the European Cups which involved playing six extra games that were saved by reducing the size of the Premier League
It has always been and always will be about the money, until the Cash Cow dies and then it will revert to the old systems we had 30 years ago or football will die a global slow lingering death
