To counter this, I had the thought of chanting "we're going to win the league" when we thought we'd scored a second prior to it being proven to be 0.00073mm offside
Also if we had done what Leicester did today not giving the ball back shearer would have vilified us on MOTD...
For me it's simple ... the league title's ours to lose now. It's over and done with as long as we don't somehow stuff it. But because we haven't done it before, and come very close, only to stuff it up, there's still that lingering feeling that we will in fact stuff it, but it would take the stuff of all stuffs
Definitely. We've had a 10pt lead before but never when everyone as played the same amount of games. This is the biggest lead we've ever had.
Just trying to enjoy it really, regardless of the outcome.. Doesn't feel like too long ago we were a bit of a laughing stock with the Hodgson stint, Gerrard slip and being in the Europa for a few years. We are 24 points ahead of 5th now and it's only mid December.. Football is very much cyclic and as one team drops another rises, thankfully off the pitch their have been huge strides with revenue and marketing, Anfield expansion (and hopefully future expansion) and soon to cross over to a new training facility, above all else foundations for future success are being laid. I'm still relatively reserved about winning the league as momentum can change quickly and point gaps can swing and be attainable BUT the team we have at the moment isn't 'typical Liverpool' as we all wait for it to collapse so when we have a bump (which we will) I do believe we'll be able to recover. Just need continue to slog for points as it's clear now there won't be many games where we smash opponents off the park.
