Good Morning. It's Thursday 16th January, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road. Leeds joint favourites to land Newcastle Ace The bookies have Leeds as joint favourites to land Dwight Gayle from St James Park. The Toon forward 29, is get to get off the mark after nine appearances, and with time running out in the transfer window, Leeds have to replace Nketiah. So Far: Che Adams No Billy Sharp No Andre Grey No Rhian Brewster No Yet another potential target has signed with one of our competitors. Seagulls veteran Glenn Murray is heading for the City ground. A troubled Leeds fan tweeted Phil Hay yesterday asking him “How confident are Leeds of securing all three deals, Never one to mix his words, the former Chief Football writer for the YEP candidly replied "You have to say that if they drop the ball again this window they’re truly screwed.” Is this Leeds last chance if they realistically want automatic promotion? please log in to view this image Eddie Nketiah is staying at Arsenal Having impressed Mikel Arteta in training over the last fortnight, the 19yo has been asked to stay at the Emirates and is set for more game time than he got at Leeds! How does that make sense? This will come as a bitter blow to Bristol City. I'm sure we all send our condolences. please log in to view this image Do Leeds miss Jansson Six months after his transfer, Pontus Jansson's Brentford sit one place and six points below the Whites, and are the only Club in the Championship to have a better goal difference than Leeds! Do Leeds miss Jansson? Is he better than Cooper? Did Bielsa have to get rid of Jansson, so he could bring Ben White in? We need to remember that nobody expected White to come of age the way he did, especially as his previous loan spells were confined to the lower leagues. I'm sure even Bielsa is gobsmacked the way the young seagull has settled in. My point is, gaining White's fee would have been negligible! Did Bielsa get rid of Jansson as the two did not get on? It was obvious after the Villa game when Bielsa instructed Leeds to let the Villans walk the ball into the net that there was tension between the two. That was confirmed when Jansson was omitted from the play off second leg when Leeds defence fell apart and Derby scored four. Looking back at the Derby game, was it the right decision to leave Jansson benched? Do you think that the other 91 league Managers get on with all their players? I can tell you for a fact they don't, but for the good of the club they put up with the moaning prima donna's! Did Leeds need the money? Let's have a look to see what Leeds got out of the deal.... Would the negligible amount Leeds received have any impact whatsoever on FFP or to boost their kitty baring in mind the size of the club? please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Morning all. Im actually sick and tired hearing about the ffp bull. How many clubs have ever lost points to affect their seasons. Do Villa Derby Wolves give a damn. Pontus sold for money, Eddie good enough for Arsenal but not us. Fans complaining other clubs won't loan us their players. Guess what, get cash and buy a striker, get promoted and sell the club on to all those supposed billionaires that have been making offers to Radz but were apparently turned down. Its not rocket science
Morning all. If we signed Gayle I fear it would be Eddie all over again, however having him on the bench is better than having nobody. I don’t believe we’re interested though, it’s just bookies putting 2+2 together. I think Bielsa didn’t like the attitude of Pontus, remember he twice asked to return late for preseason, the incident of trying to not allow Villa the equaliser, Bielsa clearly didn’t want him. I’d prefer White and Pontus but I feel it would have been Cooper +1
Pontus was opinionated and lippy and so didn't fit in, do we miss him? Not as a player but sometimes raw enthusiasm inspires.
good morning to Matt and co froma a dull Bardsey Do I miss Pontus yes do I think Pontus is missed yes His HE betterthan Cooper yes Gayle is injured an d so it would be we will want to sign him hoping he will play before the season ends What has hapeened to the young keeper and City player
I have a ready supply of cut throat razors, only £125 each and all with free shipping. They are not stainless steel and so only good for one use. Good god it's like a feeding frenzy in the amazon. If we get some more players who are better than those we have then it will be good. If not then we will still be fine. It's not the January sales, you don't have to go out and buy something that you'll never use.
A striker who can shoot head and someone who can do Pablos job when hell inevitably miss part of or all of some games due to age or injury. Radz, Orta and Kinnear are paid a fortune so its time they got off their arses and earned it.
Not in any way that really stand scrutiny, perhaps others can find the logic in the table, because after a couple of glasses of Merlot I certainly can't For example 150k + 30k VAT surely makes 180K?
I find it hilarious how everyone, well, just about everyone is saying we need a replacement for Nikita, yet "nearly Bamford" ain't the one scoring, most complain about it but want a replacement for Nikita................something's not making sense. We let players go then we miss'em, Saiz and Jansson are prime examples. No disrespects to White, he's a good defender and a good replacement, but he's not a Jansson. Berardi needs bringing back, either as RB or LB, Alioski needs to go on left or right wing. Bielsa moves players around, those that use to score ain't scoring...........it ain't rocket science.
So we're getting £5.5m over 3 years for Pontus, but Brentford "own" him straight away. However, we were due to pay Arsenal £2m to "loan" Nkietah for one season and end up having to give him back after a few months. When it's put like that it appears like Brentford got the bargain of the century and we got screwed over by the Gunners. Bad management?
