Yeah, apparently we will make the offer as soon as safety is secured. Good to see the board have faith in him haha (although theu've been burned before in fairness)
From what Ralph has said about things like how he wants to change the academy and the way he wants them to bring through players to match his philosophy it does feel like he likes a project and has been thinking long term, so i'm optimistic on him signing a longer contract. Those are not things that will bear fruit in the year he has left.
Yeah, it seems he has a lot of influence compared to what managers at most clubs get. He actually gets a say on transfers for starters.
I have also read that Long and PEH have also agreed deals but waiting for confirmed safety before announcing.
Was just having a read on the OS during my lunch break. How on Earth do they justify Newcastle as a category A game?
Possibly because Newcastle always take their full allocation and so they can price home fans out of the market? Makes sense from a business point of view, which is all that matters after all.
Must have thought it was going to be a relegation battle just like the rest of us. (except no7 of course)
...I haven't forgotten - thread on its way soon. Need to do bits and bobs today, but will have it by tomorrow at the latest...being positive I would say by tonight
Why would pricing home fans out make sense from a business point of view? Sorry don't get that. The away fans pay the same regardless of what we charge the home fans. What we charge home fans is irrelevant to this.
Saturday 29th February 2020 15:00 (3 p.m.) West Ham United v Southampton Referee: Anthony Taylor. Assistants: Gary Beswick, Adam Nunn. Fourth official: Robert Jones. VAR: Stuart Attwell. Assistant VAR: Richard West.
If they can sell an extra block to the away fans then they don’t care about selling to the home fans. Look at the Spurs game, and I believe the Liverpool game?
That doesn't really explain why it's a Cat A though. Remember there's a £30 cap on away tickets so our equivalent seats are a tenner more. They also won't move STH'S out of their seat for a league match which they've already paid for.
https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/18259292.ralph-hasenhuttl-will-smallbone-future-southampton/ Ralph speaks highly of Will Smallbone and says he always knew he would get some game time this season.
In slightly cheerier memories, three years ago today we were getting ready to play in the League Cup Final at Wembley. And Gabbiadini was onside ffs....!
