https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/18312145.toby-steele-reveals-added-investment-saints-women/ Oh, goodie....football stuff. Saints have invested a bit more in the ladies' team and now have two senior squads. Certainly deserve it as they are unbeaten in the league*...after promotion last season unbeaten. *Unless someone knows differently.
Probably my earliest Saints hero, although I never saw him play live. In this era when legendary status is conferred on players for scoring a single crucial goal, George still stands very near the top of the pyramid. RIP George
He was in the team when I started going to the Dell. 180 goals in 281 games is a pretty good record. How is it young men back then looked about 50? This is the 2nd time he's been reported as dying this year, the Echo had him dying back in January and then had to print an apology.
I am 34. I still get carded when buying wine now and again. Shave my beard and it happens consistently. This man is four years younger than I am. He looks as if he has been managing the parts department of a garage for the past 30 years. please log in to view this image
Something to cheer while nothing else is available. Le Tiss leads the way but Beattie could score a goal.
An imponderable (though let's ponder anyway) is what the season hiatus will do to the relative form of clubs. It may well come down to how each club handles the down time. At least we weren't on fire when the season stopped...now that would really have pissed us off. A challenge for Ralph and his team.
I gladly admit to being wrong about him as I wasnt too enamoured with him after his 1st season with us.
It’s interesting to look, every stat is worse with Armstrong yet we conceded half as many and scored 50% more. The only stats that matter.
Words cannot Express how much I love this man. Nigel Adkins talking saints https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p...F-3108933C408C&at_campaign=64&at_custom1=link
Always good to hear Nigel speak...what he says is relevant to football and to life outside football. Interesting to hear him talk about the problems the players will face after a long lay off...what happens when the league resumes will depend greatly on how professional the players have been during the hiatus. This will be especially important in the bottom half...there may be complete reversals with struggling sides starting to get results. We must be careful not to be caught on the wrong foot...could be a whole new league that appears when sport resumes.
On the BBC: Premier League could resume before virus restrictions are lifted – Southampton chief https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51990101 Sounds unrealistic.
I was just thinking that as I looked at these I thought you'd posted it because all the stats were better with him playing As you say, its goals that count He drives us forward unlike anyone else As soon as he gets the ball he wants to get at em where it hurts Also runs box to box
