Business Watch Banks are asking for up to 22% interest and personal guarantees (ie we take your house if your business goes under) on the Government backed loans to small businesses during the crisis. Government awards contract to build 10,000 ventilators to Dyson. Yes, the James Dyson who took his company (and it’s tax liability) out of the country, along with the majority of its manufacturing and R&D capacity, and his own personal tax home, out of the country in the lead up to Brexit, while publicly supporting Brexit. Mates rates innit. The ventilators have yet to pass medical devices regulation and some parts will need to be imported.
Did anyone look at the link I posted yesterday? In short, it is from gov.co.uk and describes high consequence infectious diseases and tells us that 7 days ago covid 19 was downgraded and taken off the list.
Let them. In this day and age they will reap their rewards through social media. Presumably they are among those businesses who feel the need to tell their customers by email every 24 hours that they are with us and will do everything to help us to fight this pandemic. The one sector of the financial services industry that has been conspicuous by its silence so far is the car finance sector. There are huge numbers of leasing. pcp contracts and contract hire agreements out there all taken out because business has moved from providing company cars to car allowances yet insists that its employees have to drive a new car of a certain quality because it reflects well on them. Many are now trying to take these benefits away under the pretext that you are not travelling for us now there fore we're not obliged to pay you this. Good luck with that.
The main thing for now is that ventilators are created by someone and the more the better. Maybe Dyson is the best man for the job. Maybe. It does seem a bit odd that Dyson is making the headlines though given the work of the likes of G Tech. It’s only natural people would ask questions given his recent history.
That just isn't correct A vast number of these contracts are individuals wanting to have a new car regularly but not having the funds to buy outright ie not just employees for use on company business
Yes I did. I thought it was a pretty daft thing to do as the virus still hits all but one of the HCID criteria. Looks like a technical/bureaucratic move to me, and we probably don’t yet have the data/evidence to say definitively that the overall mortality rate is ‘low’ (let’s hope it is), the criterion that COVID -19 no longer meets. I think the other part of the argument is that COVID-19 has already had its ‘high consequence’ - the government response. Still, if the government/ secret world leaders cartel are engineering all of this in order to create a catastrophic world recession for reasons beyond my comprehension, but doubtless something to do with shorting the stock market and buying assets cheap, why would they allow such a downgrade to the status of COVID-19 which will raise the suspicions of those hard wired to be suspicious and perhaps lead others to take the outbreak less seriously?
Look at earlier posts, I have been trying to be balanced on the business world - good stuff from JCB yesterday. Sadly the banks/finance sector are not covering themselves in any kind of glory. I freely admit that I hate James Dyson, a 24 carat ****, and will take any opportunity to run him down. But as Wats says, if we get the ventilators out of it, at cost I assume, it doesn’t really matter. There will be a reckoning, it’s important to know who your enemies are.
Good luck Mr and Mrs Bob. Fingers crossed. Let us know...we are all family here The Biomed department at Oxford University have designed and tested a new portable ventilator. They haven't got 10,000 orders like Dyson have. Just saying
On a nicer note. Guess what! Our central heating and boiler broke yesterday. It is surprisingly cold over night, and no hot water (except from kettle) to wash our hands 19x a day. We phoned up the HomeServe, expecting them to say...keep warm by burning your furniture etc. However, a gloved and masked gas engineer was here within the hour. He diagnosed a faulty gas valve, and is due to return this afternoon to replace it. Now that is an essential service ...and it worked Thank you Home Serve
Sadly, this total arsehole is now occupying a bed that could have been used by someone more deserving. Hope he suffers...
