We can both cook. If anything we're eating better than we did before as no meals on the run and we have time to prep proper meals. She's been quite good at organising a meal schedule so that we get through the fresh produce we have in the right order before it goes manky.
5 of us all home here, the biggest issue is my oldest is terrible with food and won't eat any meals that we cook so we always have a separate meal to do.
There's a thing going on locally (fairly sure it's not in any way unique) that pubs, chippies, Italians, fish mongers, butchers, off licences etc. etc., you get the picture, are now running deliveries. To keep themselves afloat mainly, to help people unable to get out also of course. Paradox is, how the fook do they not pass the virus around themselves? I'm with you though, needs must if you fancy a pizza. **** it.
We've used Domino's but I don't fancy using smaller businesses as I'm concerned with how they are protecting against spreading the viruses (potentially) Domino's use gloves and social distancing. Not sure about the drivers though.
The thing that concerns me is that all this work, this research... when it all proves successful, we don't drag our heels rolling it out across the country because of funding while the likes of India or Israel are making it available on mass.
I think the current measure is reduction rather than eradication. It means it slows down, can’t see it going to zero without a vaccine.
Yeah, of course. Get that (and understand the government reasoning) completely. Which is why I'm working and I'm not hiding. Which is why my industry is expected to do exactly that! To a degree, this will have to run its course. There's no getting away from it.
Depends on the supply chain, the industry can only remain optimal for a short period and after that its VO’s and day works everywhere you turn. Pointless keeping things going if it’s just breaking the job. Fair play for cracking on like, it must be depressing as ****.
The two main foreign contractors fitting all the mechanical **** have ****ed off home, which leaves us to try to finish our bit on one project, with some subbies doing individual packages, and break the back of the heavy civils on the other. Some subbies are still working, some aren't. I reckon I can keep both going, productively, for three more weeks. We'll then see where we are and what has evolved, Corona bollocks wise. We've got a force majeure in, so can't be held to contract completion and penalties. We couldn't anyway, they've ****ed us about so much. If anything, we'll ultimately go for extension of time with costs but chances are it'll be eot without prelims. We won't carry on if we can't produce, we just have to go on furlough then. See how it pans out. Be more depressing sitting at home and not being able to get out properly tbh.
Being home is awful, but I’d rather not be in a cabin with a few subbies who don’t wanna be there though. I visited one of our sites before I broke up last week, the atmosphere was not nice. No chance we’ll be back before end of April. Probably June. By which time I’ll have sawn my own head off.
It's a big site, plenty welfare for the few workers who are in. We also now have a full time cleaner. Got my own office, with own sink etc. I don't share anything bar a fridge with a mate/ site manager, we've hand wipes ****ing everywhere. Reckon I'll last till after Easter, it'll all be closed then. Probs till mid May ish. Get your point but it definitely isn't that bad, or I wouldn't be doing it. Those who can work certainly aren't forced to. Our lads have option of staying on our sites or going working on the five emergency hospital wards we're currently putting together. Non profit but decent turnover. I'm not involved in that, it's all fit out and trades stuff in rugby training facilities (Scarlets, Ospreys WRU and a couple of Leisure centres) 500+ beds apparently. Hopefully not needed!
It means you pap on about not buying takeaways, as if those treating their kids are poisoning them or something, yet cook takeaway food. Glad to clear that up.
You mean by buying my own food, then cooking it, without anything sneezing on it? Glads that's clear, and now how does **** off sound?
Nice to see Britain taking a blasé approach to letting people from virus hotspots around Europe come in with no medical checks like.
