Tonight is a chance to seal a point ...that's all I would wish for just 1 point, then on Saturday I wish for another point … just the 1 the team tonight???? well I hope for a 4 - 3 - 1 - 2 formation. STRIKERS … Fammy and Martin The obvious candidate for the 1 position is now in Wales so …. Holden’s injury list, Nathan Baker, Steven Sessegnon and Andreas Weimann remain City’s long-term injuries, with Liam Walsh and Joe Williams continuing with their respective recoveries. Alfie Mawson has undergone knee surgery but there is no current timescale on his injury. I would put BAKINSON in there!
Another steaming festering pile of pooh. 32.8% of possession, zero shots on target. December has come early this year.
Didn’t watch it but was switching between champs league and sky sports, 1.0 down thinking here we go again, switch it over 2.1.. Great 3 points, boy we needed that!! Well done Dean and the team..
Goals change games and that was certainly the case tonight, until our equaliser goal we were going nowhere. Substitutions when they come off change games as well and to be fair all 3 subs played a big part in the turn around. Semyeno is a handful because he is so direct, Paterson was back to his best doing what we know that he can and Diedhiou did nothing wrong. Second half DaSilva and Vyner were terrific. 3 very important points tonight and that is the most important stat of all.
We did exactly what was needed tonight and, whether we played well or not, the three points are in the bag. Nice though that may seem we still have to sharpen up our game because on other nights we may not have had such a result. How much longer do we have to wait to see our lads playing flowing football and looking like possible contenders and even though we are in the mix right now I don't see dominance in our mindset?
.... WOW! 2 good things tonight ...2 goals and from coming from behind however for me the alarming thing is we have 4 forwards [strikers] and they are short of a few goals .. mind you doesn't matter really who bags them should you win, but a striker on the score sheet in say first 20 mins would certainly help, especially should it be first goal
Huddersfield's game plan was not an easy watch. We were a bit unlucky to be a goal down at half time but Tbf we didn't deserve to be in front either. Semenyo was instrumental in changing the game as was the change from a back 3. Relieved to get 3 points. Ps - interesting to note the clubs we've played lately are all in the top 6.
I guess we must have won as @Red Robin hasn't shown up yet. Probably still entangled in his sheet he got out at half time
he missed the second half as was on way to SUSPENSION BRIDGE TO HANG IT.... when he got home had to go back and retrieve it .. was then to knackered and went to bed after downing a bottle of ...malt? ..
Yep the subs changed it-Semenyo best I have seen him play so far. Up to the change were were second best-Cardiff next. ouch
DH likes the 3-5-2 set up. I worry about our LCB in a 3. I don't think Rowe is the answer, I like his attitude but he seems a bit of a Jack of all trades but really a master of none of them in the Championship. Baker although not brilliant would have 'cleaned out' da Silva and their player for their goal. Rowe was selected after Moore's display against Norwich although I wouldn't be surprised if Moore's back in Friday. It's a conundrum for DH. He has a problem till Baker/Mawson gets back if he persists with a 3.
Agree Rowe is good to have on the bench because of his versatility but was at fault for their goal, by being the 2nd player going for the same ball as DaSilva. I still find it alarming how until our equaliser, they were at times building moves from their own half and waltzing through us totally unmolested, that has to be addressed.
The game was a bit of deja vu of our opening game against Coventry, when substitutions changed the course of the game in which we were drifting nowhere with little or no control at any stage and our first shot on target came a few minutes before we equalised. Bentley 7 Continues to show good form. Vyner 8 My MOM just gets better. Kalas 6 Generally did what was asked of him. Rowe 5 Struggled a bit last night. Hunt 6 Was better defensively last night. DaSilva 7 IMHO the best left back in the league, great to see him score. ODowda 6 Better last night, needs to be more consistent, his free kicks are poor. Brunt 5 Not overly impressed so far, looking his age and waiting to see this magical left foot in action. Nagy 6 Not match fit but did affect the game at crucial moments. Wells 5 Struggling to make an impact at the moment. Martin 7 Just utter quality, seems to bring the best out of Semyeno. All 3 subs made an impact especially Semyeno who is so direct and full of energy, after the equaliser Paterson showed why we need to build and efficient midfield around him and Diedhiou did better than recent games. If we play 3-5-2 Moore needs to return, although I would be more than tempted to leave as it was after the 3 subs and play 4 at the back on Friday.
