I thought long and hard about what my heart and head tell me about a possible/probable result tomorrow. Of course I want us to win and hope we will... but as long as we do not have a natural goalscorer, get enough players in the box for crosses and lack someone to create chances... its nip and tuck what the result will be.. plus last outing we were dire (so was the opposition), the game was awful to watch. So... who knows...
Lee Johnson: “Everyone tested negative in this week’s mandatory Covid testing, which is great news for us,” Johnson confirmed. “We do have one illness in the squad but the player in question tested negative, so it is likely just a case of ‘man flu’. “Of course it has been tough, we have to adhere to different rules, but it’s our job as coaches to ensure everyone is safe as well as physically fit and well coached.” Following the full recovery of 14 first-team players with positive Covid cases over the Christmas period, Johnson discussed how the after-effects have been dealt with in terms of nurturing the players’ fitness. “There were variations in the Covid cases that some of the players had. “One player wasn’t risked in the squad last week with a ‘double dip’, but is in line to be in the squad this week. “We’ve had to make sure everyone’s good both in the legs and the lungs, so that we’re in good shape ahead of this weekend.” Moving onto injury news, the Head Coach gave an update from the Academy of Light on the progress of Luke O’Nien and Denver Hume, as well as the mysterious recovery situation regarding Will Grigg. “Luke is back to 100% on the grass and should be able to take part in contact training next week. Denver is also up to 100% in sprinting and could be 10-14 days away now. “It’s good news on Will Grigg, or at least the best-case scenario. We were initially quoted that it could be three weeks, three months or nine months, depending on what the surgeon came back with. “We’ve now been told that the rest period of around three weeks will be beneficial for Will, and hopefully he will be back in the fold after that time.”
3-2 to the cuddlies. Hull will be no mugs but I think they will come for the win which should help us in that at least it isnt us trying to break a team down. Hoping the honeymonster scores a winning own goal for us in the 90th minute just to prove his love for us.
Cheers @RTB great thread as always big game this Excited about the new era but LJ hasn’t really had much of a chance yet. Last game was awful to be honest. However back in training with a good squad we need a good performance and I’m hopeful we’ll get one. As always though Where are the goals coming from
Massive game tonight. Must win imo if we still have ambitions of finishing top 2. I'd like to see an attacking line up If available ------------------------Burge------------------------ C.Mc--------Wright---Flanagan---Sanderson -------------Leadbitter---Scowen--------------- Gooch-------------Maguire----------McGeady -------------------------Wyke----------------------------
Cracking thread as always. Another difficult one to predict but I’m going for a scrappy win by the odd goal. Can’t wait for kick off.
Not our tv here either. If anyone can help with free feed nearer the k. o. I would appreciate it. KTF
Think we will continue to struggle for the remainder of the season, so probably lose this one by the odd goal.
