Chief Executive Officer, Jim Rodwell, added: “I am delighted to welcome Steve to Sunderland AFC. He will add valuable expertise to the executive function of the club and further underpin the long-term strategy we have put in place. We are looking forward to working with Steve, as we embark on a new era for the club.” new era ay Jim?
I would say so Don’t know anything about him but this type of appointment at this time when there are no fans and little revenue opportunities shows a level of forward planning we haven’t seen for three years Hopefully we’ll see more appointments over the next few weeks. Good news
I think I mentioned yesterday that KLD was bringing in a right hand man to enforce his wishes. (@Prehab26 I believe hinted at this a while back tbf.) This lad has an impeccable background and fits the same mould as Speakman, Johnson, etc. The SOL staff will need to be right on the ball, we'll not be carrying passengers from now on.
@John Wick, cool as f^*k. There’s been a full day and 3 pages of people talking ****e ( in different languages ) then John Wick comes home from work assassinating people, folds his Hugo Boss suit jacket over the chair, loosens his tie, pours himself a whisky and gets the thread right back on track. Class.
Good news and more evidence we are already under new ownership. For me it is also great to see a local fella and supporter in a key role. Onwards and upwards.
I guess he’s essentially replacing Tony Davidson. Similar names and also a Sunderland fan. Anybody know why Tony left? On paper he was actually pretty perfect.
Can anyone find any more info on this fella? I can't find out anything more about him. Surely someone on here went to school with him or drank in Steels club with him?
I'd be interested to know how KLD knows him as he has supported the lads for 35 years. If he knows Dreyfus he could have given him a call sooner!
I’d imagine he was headhunted by an executive recruiter rather than a pre-existing relationship with KLD. It’s a “relatively” junior appointment if he’s reporting into Jim Rodwell. If KLD was bringing in his own heavy hitter you’d expect them to replace JR rather than report into
You're on the right lines TBF but aye, probs not worth going into detail on here. Unless I want a letter from a legal firm
Some people may remember FPP wanted local people in top positions at the club. Perhaps there was an introduction and a handing over of feasibility studies, or whatever, that might be useful ... ... who knows eh? It's good to see this won't be anything like the Short era.
