I'm not sure if I'm mixed up but there were two 'Shaun Elliots' on rtg, one I liked and the other who hated me ... ... I still don't know why, who or which was which. I remember one had endless great stories about matches through the 80’s.
I have to say I don't hold 'avatar/username' grudges ... ... anyone posts summat original, funny or informative and they get a 'like'. Some people hate, me so much they'd bite their lip if I hoyed up the funniest post in the history of forums ... ... I come on here for a laugh and don't care where it comes from.
Welcome mate, we're all 'Sunderland' here, wherever we're from ... ... hope you enjoy yourself here, your opinions are as valid as anyone's.
Thanks I used to post rarely and occasionally on the old 606 - I actually joined here in 2011 when bbc 606 crumbled, then joined Syd's forum -the lad from Cohoe way back whenever it was - I was living in Bishop Middleton at the time and always had the idea we'd share a pint ...never happened. I just thought today is a good day to be a Sunderland supporter - on the back of another good performance, a new billionaire owner and we're set!! - to continue the tradition of losing at Wembley! Ha'way!
Welcome Doodler.. This is in my opinion the best forum going right now. I too was around in the BBC days and was a member of the great Syd's forum.
Aha - ironically, the names smug and yourself are distantly familiar but cannot recall the name I used to have on here to save my life! I've tried searching topics that I think I may have posted on - mainly on match threads, when I was able to watch most games, or anything to to with my hero Super Kenwynne Jones. I was quite active on Syd's forum then my computer died and I lost both accounts.
Well me and smug and quite a few others meet up sometimes for a few beers before games, and everyone and anyone on here is always welcome to join us.
I was on Syd's forum for a while, until my laptop threw a wobbly. Pos as 'Crow' or 'Smirk' or, god knows.
