Don't think I've heard them before, but was generating a combination of past bands in my head, one of those bands being Frankie goes to Hollywood. Can't determine the others at the moment, but suppose that's a compliment of sorts. Video spoils it, makes it seem too boy bandish is the way I would describe it, which does a disservice to the music itself.
You're right mate, poor video. The song is off a great album, Swagger. Worth a listen if you get a chance. Don't know enough of Frankie, to compare. I do though have a copy of Relax, which is a misprint, the b side label is on both sides of the single, I've never been able to get a valuation on it.
Forgot to add last night, I've heard a few times people compare them to The Wedding Present, not sure if that's the type of band you were thinking of.
Lala Del Rey - Chemtrails Over the Country Club follows up NFR and although it follows the same vein as its predecessor it's not quite up to the same standard which is comforting as well as disappointing, gone is the dark pop Princess of her early work with disjointed and frankly quite boring lyrics. The album shows that the serious artist is here to stay and that she has plenty more to offer.
NFR is a very good album yet to play COTCC. Played the Joanne Gruesome Weird Sister album a couple of times today after your clip last week, very good
Posting this in tribute to my dear friend Scotty who passed away earlier this week. Scotty also went under the name Marcel Bailey in his DJ and mixing work. Anyway this is a mix that he did just a couple of weeks ago for some friends of ours in a DJ collective called Sir Vinyl. Bless up Scotty and fly with the Angels bro
At least i clicked the link mate. Not my style. But RIP Scotty... We all differ in music, and you were a music man.
