Benitez? Managed Inter, Chelsea, Napoli, Real Madrid, Newcastle and Dalian Yifang in China. Strange career trajectory. Won a few trophies. Decent manager.
We are not sacking Ralph. Players were entirely to blame last night - didn't put 100% in with the FA Cup semi-final on the horizon.
We need someone like that at Spurs. You know,a manager that likes to play football for enjoyment of players and fans alike!? Now who's out there like that..........?
PSG v Bayern isn't a classic but it's very good and close and the fact that we were competing at this level just 2 years ago is very hard to comprehend given the **** that we've served up since.
****ing fantastic two legs of football between PSG and Bayern. World class football. Proper enjoyed that.
Much as I hate PSG and everything they represent, I would love Poch to lift the trophy, if only as a massive great big 'up yours' to Levy.
I fancy PSG to beat City with the pace they have up front. They can hurt them on the counter. Here’s to a PSG v Real Madrid final. The alternatives are not worth contemplating.
If Poch wins the CL with PSG the same season Spurs finish 10th with Jose, you’d just have to laugh at the irony of sacking him for a ‘winner’
Oh definitely they’re a million times better but Jose wouldn’t beat Bayern with any team at his disposal these days
when i look at PSGs first team and i compare them back to the team the peak spurs team, are they really better though? The front 3 i agree, the rest, not so much. If only spurs had spent some real dosh after poch had coached a number of decent buys into some top class players
"If only". As many of us have pointed out, we haven't signed a player who has seriously improved our starting XI since Victor Wanyama in 2016. The bigger problem now seems to be recruitment. Since the season you mentioned, we have broken our transfer record 3 times with Sanchez, Lo Celso and Ndombele. Sadly none of them has come even close to justifying the fees we paid for them, let alone improving the side. And whereas the Chelseas of this world can blow tens of millions on Morata, Bakayoko and Kepa, we can't. The small comfort is that in the likes of Skipp, Tanganga, Cirkin, Sessegnon, Devine, White and Scarlett we have a batch of really promising youngsters. We just need a manager who can actually coach them to their fullest potential. Mourinho isn't that person.
