I can't say I was surprised when I woke up this morning and saw the result and the timing of the goal. We played two games with a 4.4.2 formation, won them both, scored 5 goals, conceded none. Then Cooper reverts to his favorite formation and all the momentum is lost.
Having slept on it, if we’d lost going all out trying to win then, whilst a disappointment, at least we lost by giving it a go but we were shapeless, lacked urgency and were simply awful. Bringing on Whittaker with just 5 mins to go tells you all you need about our desire to win.
I’m possibly more angrier now than last night .He would have settled for a draw thinking that would have been a good result than to have the balls to try and win the game.No leader in the technical area less so on the pitch, no one to give the side a much needed kick up the backside so desperately needed
“We are disappointed, we missed chances in the first half, and they have ended up costing us on the basis we have ended up conceding,” Cooper said. “If somebody had said we were going to create as many chances as that in one half then we would have been happy, and we would have expected to at least take one of them.” They had 59% possession, 21 shots to our 11, 7 on target to our 2 - they hit the post twice in the first half to our once... Must be a case of lies, damn lies and statistics....
Someone easily pleased, ,with recognised striker on the pitch perhaps those chances would have been converted
On current form, the most likely to go up are Norwich, Watford and Bournemouth who are the three clubs relegated last season...
Oh god, bournemouth 3-1 up at Millwall already. They've jumped to third. Swansea-Brentford over two legs anyone? That will be bitter. And that's just the fans forums
This is all part of coopers plan....get the opposition, media and fans annoyed and shocked by the catastrophic performances and then gets it right in the play offs against all comers as they won’t expect a new rejuvenated Swansea team........just a thought.....
I think we are going to finish 6th - so Bournemouth will be the ones to put us out of our misery ..... Unless we finish 7th
Well let’s hope Reading lose tonight as they will be 9 points off us then with 9 to play for plus we have a better goal difference. Now there’s a thought what if Reading put a few past us on the weekend. The possibility of finishing seventh is very real.
So with Reading drawing tonight, will that make Cooper go for the draw against Reading. If so that’s us Fk’d.
