Rotherham arrive at CCS most likely needing all of the 3 points to ensure their Championship status for next season and (hopefully) send Direby and Wednesday down. Don't think I'll remember much of the blur that has been this season - roll on when we can get back into the stadium! Last Post As some of you may remember at the start of this campaign, I announced that this would be my last in the role of running the prediction league on this board. Unfortunately, nothing about the whirlwind season just past, where we’ve all become a bit detached from the deluge of games, has convinced me to change my mind It is worth of course stating that I have thoroughly enjoyed running this over the past 10 years and I suppose I am ‘proud’ (or as proud as you can be of an online forum guessing competition) of what we’ve created here since leaving the 606 board. I certainly didn’t imagine doing this for a full decade A couple of acknowledgments. A big thank you to both H Bomb and @ThaiCanary who were a massive help in running the spreadsheet side of things in those early days – thankfully I’m much savvier on Excel these days And another thanks to all those that have predicted down the years – a couple of you have predicted every single game (all of them City wins @Oldsparkey ) which is quite remarkable. I hope you have all enjoyed as much as I have! Thanks Sheep Table Permutations DIV I @william5551 is in pole position to claim a 2nd League title, as he arrives on this final game of the season with a 3-point lead over his nearest rival. To pull off a last-minute title grab, either of the former champions @BluefromBridgend or @danablu will likely need a CS and then hope that William is pointless. William would join BFB in the elite multiple championships club! At the other end of the table, @FrankfurterBlue needs a 2-point swing over Blue Sheep to avoid joining @clingo in a return to the 2nd tier. Frankfurter does have a mammoth 5 CS to Sheep’s meek single so he only needs to draw level to stay up. Can he end Sheep’s impressive run of 10 consecutive seasons at the top table (no relegations) and avoid another relegation? DIV II As it stands, @Rumney Bluebird has control of the only automatic promotion slot out of Div II but that could all change as all of @DaiJones, @mustyfrog, Sparks and @ccfcremotesupport are within striking distance. Given the closeness of this year’s competition, a last day CS could see any of the above claim the Div II Title and automatic promotion! Alas the game of musical chairs for the Playoff places looks set to end with @irishbluebird missing out. However, a big score for Irish could see him gatecrash that and one of the above miss out!
Mr Sheep You are an absolute superstar. Can't thank you enough for all the effort you've put into running the prediction league for our benefit. It's been good fun for everyone (not so much for me this season ) and I'm sure I won't be alone in offering my sincere appreciation. Thank you.
Thanks for your efforts of the last decade sheepy. Great effort and very enjoyable (even if my relegation last season blotted my long stay in the top division). I'm going for 2-2 with Moore getting one.
I can only add my congratulations and sincere thanks for an excellent job over the last ten years. It has added very much to my enjoyment on this site. I'm ashamed to say that I still hope to pull a magic rabbit out of the hat and send you down....simply because I'm sick to death of hippy-hopping about these bloody leagues. I see us winning this final game by three goals to nil with Moore getting a final score to cap a fine season. (and this is off the wall for me in that attempt to stay up. I trust you completely not to do the dirty and if you predict the same as me I will recognise that our great minds think alike!!!)
There's only one Blue Sheep, There's only one Blue Sheep... Thank you for all your input in making the prediction league so enjoyable for the last ten years Sheepy. A fantastic job and a hard act to follow. For my final prediction I think we'll have a tougher game than last week, against a Millers side desperate to stay up. Bluebirds 1-1 Rotherham with Mr Moore obliging.
It’s been a match day ritual for me which I’ve enjoyed and will miss it ........ unless of course anyone else here has the time and ability to take on the mantle. (Not me sadly as I’m a bit of a dinosaur luddite when it comes to geeky computer stuff) Thanks again Mr BaaBaa
Being a lazy sod, can I just agree with everything everyone else has said so far. Sheepy you have done a brilliant job and kept a very trying bunch of old sods thoroughly interested, informed and entertained. Time to lay back and let some other genius take over.
Thanks blue sheep for the amazing job you have done: It’s super tight in division 2 , so to give everyone a fair chance to win the league will post the result nice and early on here to give everyone a chance to see it incase anyone wanted to change there score or go with a different result: City 2 Rotherham 1 moore
Well done Sheepy - 10 years of effort on your part providing an interest that's helped keep this forum together. For this last one, I'll have to go for a City win again not to spoil your info on me....... City 2 - 0 Roger 'em with Flint getting one of them.
Thank you Sheepy. I haven't been around 10 years, although it feels like sometimes. I can only echo the sentiments expressed by others and say well done for all your hard work in running the prediction league all this time. Cheers BT.
