Well perhaps you spread the word. I suppose you stopped supporting your club when your owner who was responsible for a bribe that lead to a murder was allowed in? Not that im bothered he wasn't rich enough to bother anyone. Tbh I thought he'd actually killed the man but it wasn't quite that bad.
Oh seems like bribery and corruption that lead to a murder weren't a concern to your fans. Just asking how rich they were and how much they'd spend Facts
I've just proved theirs hypocrisy at stake on a large scale. Unfortunately we're going to be forced to throw every fanbase under the bus now
With fossil fuels being phased out in future decades, I expect to see a glut of Saudi's wanting to buy up football clubs, the new oil.
That's essentially the idea behind PIF it's a huge pot of money set aside to invest in other areas to prepare for them running out. The idea its sportswashing isn't entirely accurate because ultimately they're buying nufc to try and make money. It's not a big man City type investment or at least that's what stavely etc have said.
I believe it's about using sports to distract away from their terrible human rights issues Public investment fund.
Just a thought but why are Saudi's investing in British football, rather than say for example American NFL, by that I mean actually in the US not Tottenham Hotspur. Surely America with over 300 million people is a bigger pot than a 70 million one, albeit our football is global of sorts.
It's where the money is at I guess.... Its really just a tiny investment for PIF they'll be looking to turn 300 million into a billion. I believe they wanted Chelsea and man united or Liverpool but they asked too much.. They can't grow those clubs. It begs the question that If it was all about a big sportswash then why did they not just buy one of those clubs?
I think football is very popular in Saudi and in particular the premier league, so maybe they're giving them a club to follow?
Sorry mate but none of it makes sense to me. What's the population of Saudi, 32 million? Premier League revenue is let's say £2.5 Billion NFL revenue is $15 Billion If I was giving them a club to follow it wouldn't be Newcastle, you could make little ole Gillingham just as attractive with your theory, Kent has a population of nigh on 2 million, and we've already got planning permission for a anew ground or did have!
It wouldn't surprise me if they buy an NFL team also mind. They bought McLaren F1 a few months back. They're already the go to for the biggest boxing matches in the sport
