It'd be incredible if they had, given the upkeep of a brand new, under warranty building is far cheaper than an older one. I think that there were some allegations that basic maintenance was done robustly in the early days, which saved him costs but increased costs for the later owners.
Hull college and hull council rented space In the stadium in those days as well, plus hull collage paid a fair wack to use facilities like the arena outdoor astro/3g area. No quite sure what year hull college closed their location there though, but it's all just sitting empty now. I'm sure it was common knowledge back then that HCC paid more in rent to have the offices etc at the stadium in those days then they got back in payments from the SMC
Looking at the state of the place, I doubt the Allams have spent £1.7m in maintenance, never mind the £17m of debt that’s been run up.
That doesn't alter anything of what I posted. That and the post from HS2 confirms it would have been odd, if they hadn't made a profit.
Is it really ? I see a few rusty bits on the girders and they tell me the roof leaks some times, but piss poor ? Are you sure ?
What other stadiums do you compare it with ? Ours would probably look better if there wasn't so many empty seats in it.
Assume they’ll have had a fair bit of income from the NHS this last year or so with the use as a vaccine centre.
Don't think it would make up the shortfall from the rent lost when HCC pulled all their facilities out of it or when the entire stadium was closed down last year because of the covid lockdown.
There are plenty of clubs that manage to pay for the build and the interest payments on a new build, Hull City and Hull FC (OK to be exact the SMC) were given the stadium and the Airco hall for nothing all they had to do was make enough to cover the upkeep of the place, it's piss poor that not only could they not do that they have managed to load it with debt which OLM suggests is now 17 million.
The rent from HCC was only £50k a year. Last year, the total income was £1.65m (half what it is normally due to lockdowns), but the cost of sales (cost of staging events) was £1.2m, the administration costs were another £1.4m and interest to the Allams £700k, it’s no wonder it’s running up massive debts.
I noticed weeks ago that they’ve replaced some of the seats but used the wrong coloured seats (in the north stand it’s noticeable where the white hull lettering is)
It looked great on the telly. Remember the days when fans turned up to paint stuff, fix things, try to clear the pitch of snow so the game could go ahead? and all that for free. Colin Appleton was our manager and our plumber The main thing I'd like to see when or if I do return? The bogs don't smell like Satan's arse piss. Oh and I want Acuns female entourage to come round my shed and.... Give me a cuddle
It got some positive comments on the tele last night too. (But I agree with BT's comments too .... There are plenty of clubs that manage to pay for the build and the interest payments on a new build, Hull City and Hull FC (OK to be exact the SMC) were given the stadium and the Airco hall for nothing all they had to do was make enough to cover the upkeep of the place, it's piss poor that not only could they not do that they have managed to load it with debt which OLM suggests is now 17 million).
Acun come with me we can have sex in my private jet. Kempton come with me, we can have sex in my garden shed. Acun, my dear, I though of you when I was sat in my Lamborghini Kempton, I was thinking about how bad the smell in the stadium bogs is, when you came to mind.
