It’s like knowing you need white trainers to play squash then turn up with black ones when we all know it’s not good for the court… besides
As you keep banging on about… you can’t have one rule for one?

Do you think it would help if he just stopped lying?

Some people who think (b) might have other issues they feel is far more important….like poverty, knife crime, ongoing criminality in society etc etc etc etc etc etc

Ah ignore any wrong-doing as there will always be something more serious. Is knife crime and ongoing criminality a new thing? If not why is now the time? Why hasn’t this been tacked before?

In a nutshell why corruption, ineptitude and incompetence gets a free pass because people are so happy to shift the focus when it’s highlighted, no accountability, no responsibility, they must be laughing their tits off

Getting a bit like the 1980s....

After Coup in Burkina Faso, Protesters Turn to Russia for Help

Fed up with the failure of their government, and France, to stop the violence caused by militants, some citizens now call for Russia to intervene.

OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso — The morning after the coup in Burkina Faso, a crowd of revelers celebrating the military takeover in the dusty main plaza of the capital had two messages for the outside world: No to France, and yes to Russia.

“We want a partnership with Russia,” said Bertrand Yoda, a civil engineer who shouted to make himself heard amid hundreds of horn-honking, cheering people gathered in a raucous show of appreciation for the new military junta. “Long live Russia!”

Mutinying soldiers seized power in this poor West African nation on Monday, riding a wave of boiling frustration at the government’s failure to stem surging Islamist violence that since 2016 has displaced 1.4 million people, killed 2,000 and destabilized perhaps two-thirds of a once-peaceful country.

Yes, if only they hadnt partied whilst the rest of the country was locked up then maybe these other issues could be at the forefront although the latter, criminality is quite an ironic one, all things considering.

Yes, you're right Bob, it's chiefly concerned with the good prospects for the City, the financial region of London. But that brings in huge £ for the country. And should be used in the Levelling Up campaign, whether by Boris or whoever replaces him. There's a lot of work to do. There needs to be a revamp of education and subjects across the country for a start.

I’m not sure where ‘the north’ starts and how many people are included under ‘levelling up’ but the Times reports that Gove has been desperately running around Whitehall trying to get existing projects rebranded as ‘levelling up’ actions. So far the total investment amounts to £32 per head in the areas to be ‘levelled’. As a one off of course, not recurring.

I’m not sure that this is enough to bring life expectancy, overall health status, educational achievement and housing quality, let alone living standards up to what they are used to in say, Ascot.

What is the levelling up campaign and what does it mean? How will this great news effect, say, Brian the asda assistant in Huddersfield? People like Brian arent arsed that some rich folk have invested in the city of london to make even more money for themselves, he wants what was promised from brexit, the things that will help him, like the promise to cut vat from his energy bills.

The more rich financiers earn in the City, the more tax they pay. The tax monies must be used by government to pay into a Levelling Up fund and that will be used on infrastructure projects in less prosperous parts of the country.
