Tough time to play Palace, Vieira has got them playing some really good football, they are unbeaten in their last four in the PL and they put four goals past Everton in the FA cup in their last game. We'll have to be on our A game to beat them, but I am confident going into this, because I think Arteta has got the players in the right mentality, treating every game like it's a cup final.
Reports are suggesting that Zaha had a hamstring issue before the England game which is why he didn't play for Ivory Coast, and it could rule him out for the Arsenal game. Olise also may have a foot injury and is a doubt. Eze I think has only recently come back to fitness, so could be rusty. Obviously, these may well be precautions for the Arsenal game, but if they're true, then it'd be a big boost for us heading into the match. They've still got lots of other threats, and it'll be a tricky game under the lights in front of a boisterous crowd at Selhurst Park, but it would certainly improve our chances of winning if their key attacking players are unavailable.
If Zaha is out that will be a bonus for us, and if the other two are still out then that would significantly weaken their attack. But they still have goal threats from players like Gallagher and Edouard It will defo be a raucous affair on a Monday night and part of me wishes it was one of those Saturday lunchtime KO's where we might catch them cold. But that said, I think we'll go into the game with high energy and the right attitude
Cedric has done okay coming in for Tomiyasu, but we'll be much stronger down the right both defensively and offensively with Tomiyasu in the team
He’s touch and go for the Palace game, but should definitely be back for the Brighton match at The Emirates. Hopefully there’ll be no more disruptions to his season, as we need him for this critical run in.
Hopefully ESR will be back to his best for the run in too. He's been laid up with Covid and sickness, but seems to be back up to speed now too
Every game is pretty stressful right now. If we lose this chances of a TOP 4 finish dramatically reduce. We for sure have a tougher run in than Spurs.
Yep, I didn’t anticipate Spurs winning by such a massive margin against Newcastle today (overtaking us in the league on GD in the process). We absolutely need to get maximum points from the Palace and Brighton games before we play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Speaking of which, our big game record is quite poor this season, but that has to change somewhat against Spurs, Chelsea and Man Utd. We need results in those matches.
Think you're 2 games in hand gives you some breathing space but either of us west ham or united could still get 4th. The good thing for you lot tomorrow is Palace will not risk players cos of the semi final coming up and players could well have their mind on that when it comes to 50/50 challenges...or Vieira could have them playing for their semi final place. Could be a fascinating match tbh. Can't believe that either of us are in the mix considering how bad we've both looked at times this season.
We've got some tough games in our run in. We have to go to Stamford Bridge and your place as well as play Utd at home. We've also got to go to West Ham and Southampton, so we are going to need to be at our very best to get top 4 The Palace game has just become a must win for us now with you winning today. And ****in Everton and Newcastle can get in the fukin bin for shipping 10 goals to your lot, which has given you a better GD too. Stupid ****s. That NLD is gearing up to be a winner takes all match. It will be unbearable to watch But yeah, incredible that both of us are in with a decent shout for top 4 given how poor we've been at times this season.
No Tierney or Tomiyasu is a huge blow. I thought one would be starting or both would be in the squad at the very least. Cedric and Tavares will have their work cut out for them tonight...
Lots of Palace's attacking threat comes from their wings, and with Zaha starting, Cedric is going to to be busy. Important that Saka and Partey get back and help him out
