Time running out for Barcelona

Leeds have set Barcelona a deadline of today to come up with an acceptable offer for Raphinha, according to Ben Jacobs. The Sports Broadcaster / Journalist claims that the Catalan Giants are no further ahead with negotiations, and the Leeds Utd hierarchy are fed up with their games. The Brazilian ace is the only player not to have reported back to Thorp Arch for pre-season training, but with Luis Sinisterra on his way, Raphinha's exit plan needs to be executed, and quickly!

Several weeks ago (after much interference), Deco persuaded Raphinha to reject a move to Stamford Bridge. It was hoped, that having almost missed out on their main Summer target, Barca would finally play ball, and come up with a reasonable offer, yet nothing could be further from the truth.

According to Jacobs: "Barcelona no closer to a full agreement with Leeds for Raphinha. Joan Laporta says “no deadline” to complete the deal but Leeds have asked Barca to present latest offer by Thursday. Leeds have already brought in Luis Sinisterra to replace Raphinha and want his future resolved."

Orta has a contingency plan if Leeds miss out on De Keteleare

In the likelihood that Leeds miss out on Charles De Keteleare, Victor Orta has a contingency plan. In fact, various news outlets have submitted four names for consideration. PSG Striker Arnaud Kalimuendo (20), Blackburn's Chilean International Ben Brereton Diaz (23), FC Lorient's Terem Moffi (23) and young Chelsea forward Armando Broja (20) have been credited with attracting considerable interest from Leeds Director of Football. All four are valued in the £20m - £30m price bracket, a figure which is comfortable with the Leeds Utd hierarchy

Marsch ready to unleash new-look Leeds squad

Leeds Utd kick off their pre-season this evening with a trip up to York City's LNER Community Stadium to face Michael Appleton's Blackpool. The former midfielder took the reins at Bloomfield Road just three weeks ago (his second spell in charge, having previously managed them back in 2012/13) after Neil Critchley quit to become assistant to Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.

This will be the first chance that the Blackpool players would have had to try and impress their new gaffer, but surely, Leeds will be too strong for them. Jesse Marsch is expected to name a 22-man squad varying in age, experience and ability to face the Championship outfit consisting of: Meslier, Klaesson, Shackleton, Drameh, Koch, Struijk, Firpo, Davis, Roca, Forshaw, Bate, Gray, Greenwood, Summerville, Poveda, Miller, Rodrigo, Harrison, Bamford, Gelhardt, Joseph, Dean.

About time we set a deadline. But why is rapha not back for pre season, breach of contract surely. Bayern Munich yesterday saying they don't expect Barca to still be in business in two years so won't sell to them unless all cash up front. We absolutely must apply the same principles or stand to lose tens of millions down the line

 

Probably just because none of the internationals that were back on Monday have been chosen. Once Kristensen is in the squad Shackleton will be out I’d imagine. Same with a lot of the younger players as no Cooper, Llorente, Aaronson, Adams & James in the squad either if the above is to be believed.

 

Get Deco and Raph to pool their money together to make up the difference.

The Raphinha thing is doing me head in. Only wants Barca, Barca aren’t willing to pay and yet he’s still off on holiday. Get back to training or we shouldn’t be paying him.

Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of Colombian international Luis Sinisterra from Eredivisie outfit, Feyenoord.

The 23-year-old arrives at Elland Road for an undisclosed fee and has penned a five-year deal, running until the summer of 2027.
