Here’s the posts that led to it…… 1) “If I was an investor I’d be looking very closely at who sold me this bill of ****. Where’s Charlie?” 2) “Agree, Scott isn't solely to blame for this mess and it must start with the person(s) who brought him in. It is clear to all of us that the SMT is completely incompetent but unfortunately the owners seem to slow to do something about it.” 3) “I would be very interested to know how he sold it to them?” 4) “Like any spiv - if you appeal to someone’s vanity they will believe anything” 5) ”Well some on this forum certainly did.” Cue the sound of a phone ringing in North Wales…………and then…………. 6) “Andy Scott needs publicly digging out. Football has moved on from his limited skill set. There is nothing technical about him or the players he is bringing in so why the title? Nathan Jones is a good manager, last thing he and we need is Andy ****ing Scott still in the job in the summer. It's absolutely criminal that we have Steve Brown and Curbs available to watch and advise on players yet Scott remains on the payroll. I really am starting to question whether his role is to find players to take us up or sign duds like he has to take us down.” Dear oh dear. If you’re going to try to divert attention away from your sponsor then at least try to do it in a less obvious way
I reckon sparks have flown with the Yanks coming over, Mary, Mungo and Midge have had their noses severely put out of joint and Jones is now having a big say in things. Hopefully we can stay up and rebuild from this. We go down and I can only see Jones leaving and where does that leave us?
Mundell is finding it acceptable that Dobson is sold How many more mistakes are Mary, Mungo and Midge to make before the apologists get their heads out of the sand.
It must be over a year since I had a look at ITTV. Does it really matter what they say? Football is all abahrt opinions. In Billy Connolly's words we're all "Human therefore fallible".
It doesn’t matter what they say but it can be genuinely hilarious at times. If ever you’re feeling a bit down it’s worth popping over there and brightening your day up
I occasionally post on CL as Orpingtony. There are a few very good posters there and quite a few not-so-good, but ITTV is off the scale.
If we go down, Charlton Athletic will lose the Valley. Forever this time. That won't be wholly Jones' fault, but he ought to accept the reality of it. This next three months will define our Club's future for at least a decade to come, quite possibly longer. I said the same thing on ITTV around New Year 2016 after the Karel Fraeye debacle and I was ridiculed by a few apologists as being too melodramatic. The last eight years have proven me right though.
You may be right you may be wrong, let's hope we don't have to find out. It would certainly be a catastrophe for the club, and when you look at the Gillingham and Paper Mills games you can see there's no easy way back up. The owners would be taking sensible advice about the alternative possibilities, and take it from there. The idea that relegation can be a good thing in the long run because it gives you a chance to rebuild is fantasy. There is not a single positive to relegation. Neither the owners, SE7 or the Douchebags have any emotional attachment to our club, so any decisions will be of a purely financial nature.
Dushitelet's end game was The Valley. Should we drop attendances will plummet and then talk will be of the ground being too big for us. I think there is zero intention of purchasing The Valley and the lease is ticking down, 11 years? now.
