Get a shot on target and don't concede. Doesn't matter how many fancy dan midfielders you have, if your defence and forwards are **** you'll be lucky to finish higher then you did last season.
Less than 50,000 screaming Geordies on opening day against the Champions, 50,816 ....... another myth busted
Today proved the majority of fans correct. We need that 15-20 striker (not sure we can attract one to be honest) and two new CB's. I'd take tenth again to be honest. It is probably where our squad belongs.
To be fair, the ones who went were hardly amazing either. The past few years our support really has been ****. No excuses.
You'll be lucky with 10th. Check out you results since the turn of the year and you'll be lucky with 12-13th. Why newcastle haven't tried to shore up the defence is beyond me.
To be honest your fans deserve a medal for putting up with the **** they have since bobby robsons time. We watch **** but at least we have a roller coaster time of it.
Colo most probably ****s off Parpoo and Williamson is vital to our free kick "technique". If given a run at CB, I think M'Biwa would do a good job but Parpoo would rather **** a hedgehog it would seem. We only spend what we earn (in transfers) and as such Parpoo is somewhat hamstrung. We won't spend any more money this window and this short sightedness could mean you are correct and might not even finish top 10. There is a lot of dross out there mind you and we played well enough today to beat the majority of teams (I MUST HAVE SOME POSITIVITY lol)
Correction.....how they must regret SPITTING him out of the TOOOOON Mind you they had a point he wasn't as big as Keegan or shearer.
I'm not having a go, I get on well with the lad. It's just a fact that they must regret not giving him more time ........ I was terrified when he was there because they'd have won something. Newcastle was his only club without a trophy if I recall.
I don't think the mags were bad, city are champions and you can't base a seasons assessment on one game. Mags seemed to lack a bit of belief. They came close to a draw. The mags will improve.
Meh doesn't bother me. I was only 17 when he got the boot. I certainly did not boo him BUT some small sections (a vocal section to be fair) did want him gone. Was he a bit old for management? Probably. Had he lost the dressing room? Probably. The players should have been given the heave ho, not him. We never have and probably never will have a manager with his stature again.
I don't think we would have won something. With one half of the team refusing to pass the ball to the other half it would be unlikely. That said, he would have kept us up where Everton are with perhaps the flirtation with CL football as opposed to mid table cloggers
