If West Ham draw with Liverpool in the FA Cup this weekend Saints v West Ham will change to Saturday 6th February kick off 5.30 pm. So be prepared to change your plans!
Damn for me too. Flying back from Atlanta Monday morning...changed my flight once already as I thought the game was on the Monday.
Someone on Facebook was trying to sell his tickets, owing to not being able to get there for the Monday kick off, but is now holding onto them until after the weekend result. I guess there will be some hoping for an outright win and some hoping for the draw. Could do with a WHU win, to give them a distraction from the league, as well as for obvious reasons.
Damn I'm flying in from the meeting in Zurich on Monday, and not getting the Bentley out of the shop until Saturday morning. I'm going to have to get the ****ing aupair to pick the kids up from boarding school!
Ridiculous how TV channels at allowed to mess fans around, there should never have been a Monday night match scheduled for that week.
Personally I think Sky should bin Monday night football. I expect most of the viewers used to watch purely for Gary Neville and the scousers analysis of the weekend. But it's a match no good for anyone. Largely it's between two teams who are not in Europe, so neutral support is likely to be low. It's a time which is poor for international audiences and not to mention the poor fans in attendance.
Indeed. They purposely didn't schedule one last Monday because they knew they'd be two League Cup games to be played on the Tues and Weds. So why not the same for an FA Cup replay midweek? It doesn't make one iota of difference to me, I really don't mind which of the two evenings it is played. But that's not the same for everyone.
Scene: The night we played Everton in 2013 (Poch's first game in charge, iirc). Sky reporter at some poxy M40 services stops some Everton supporters and says, "So what's bringing you down to Southampton on a wet Monday night"? The bloke looks at him scornfully and says, "You lot are. This game was meant to be on Saturday till Sky had it moved..." Vin
Monday night games for us long distance fans are virtually a no go unless you like crawling in 1-2am assuming the motorways are open.
I take that back. I do care now. I didn't realise that West Ham are playing on Tuesday rather than Wednesday. That extra 24 hours would come in handy for them, were our game to be played on Saturday. So a result here please, to keep our game on Monday.
No, I'm talking rubbish aren't I. We're Tuesday too. It's last midweek vs Watford that we were Wednesday.
I probably would, but because of everyone else who have other commitments and have made arrangements, it would be ridiculous for it to be rescheduled at such short notice.
