I watched 10 Cloverfield Lane last night. As a fan of Cloverfield I've been looking forward to this for ages without really knowing what to expect. I won't reveal anything here and I'm awarding it a solid 8 of 10.
I watched Vendetta night before last, it's Danny Dyer so I thought it might be a bit crap (it got **** reviews), but if you like a bit of British gangster stuff then it's watchable. Dyer plays special ops interrogation officer Jimmy Vickers, who tracks down a gang who slaughtered his parents, coming up with increasingly gruesome ways of killing them. Vincent Regan (300, Troy, Clash Of The Titans) plays his commanding officer.
Watched Captain America Civil War again this morning. Such a great film, one of Marvel's best, possibly the best of this series.
He is indeed founder and Artistic Director of the East Riding Theatre company, which has Dame Judi Dench as it's patron.
Day 131, film 131. "Apocalypse now", watched it today but forgot to post.... Brilliant, simply brilliant !!!! Ps. Lost in the final at darts, couldn't finish... Story of my life !!!?
Thanks to those that recommended Woman In Gold, I watched it last night, great performances from Helen Mirren and Ryan Renolds, adding to a great storyline with a fantastic ending. 9.5/10 for me.
Yesterday the wife and I watched Deadpool, which was brilliant. 8/10. Then we watched Zoolander 2, which was funny. 7/10. After that, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Which to my disappointment really is Pride and Prejudice with a smattering of Zombie-ish characters. The wife loved it as she's read Pride and Prejudice "a million times" and knew exactly what was going on, where as I slowly lost the will to live. Me 4/10, her 10/10. Then, in an attempt to up my mood we watched The Witch, a New England folk tale. It was a little like a Game of Thrones side story, helped by the fact it had a witch in it, Kate Dickie (Lysa Arryn of The Vale) and Ralph Ineson (Dagmer Cleftjaw, of the Iron Islands). Not as exciting as GoT and not a tit or dragon in sight. 6/10. If that wasn't enough for one day, we then watched The Boy, a paint by numbers ghost story. It was okay if not a tad predictable, but it had Maggie out of The Walking Dead in it so I'll give it 6/10.
You got lucky with Maggie, when I see films with Walking Dead characters it's usually Maggies dad in them (edit) he's in Justified and a horrible film with Rob Schneider
Day 132, film 132, "scarface" another one of my lads movies, Haven't seen it in while, been finishing off season 4 of GOT, tonight And just finished episode 1 of season 5, this just gets better !!!
Watched Non-Stop last night, Liam Neeson plays an alcoholic Air Marshall who's sat next to Julianne Moore on flight from New York to London. He receives texts on his private Air Marshalls phone advising him that someone will die every twenty minutes until he receives $150m. Bits of it are quite clever, bits of it are daft and the ending is completely ridiculous. It's typical Neeson, but not one of his best, I'd give it 6/10.
I know it's been said a thousand times.... but... Scarface is absolutely brilliant..... Really great films, you never get tired of seeing them... Reminds you what a great film actually looks like and not some of the crap they call great, made today..... Apologies for the over use of "Great"...
