Glad he's finally seen fit to go, 2 yrs late.... shame none of the England managers had the balls to do it themselves....! Legend is a term overused in this case, a good England player, but never performed well enough on th big stage....
TFFT. Not that I have anything against Rooney himself. He's been a great player. It is all the bullshit hype that one has had to endure over the years that makes me want to vomit. It could be any player, but it's the Rooney this, Rooney that, Rooney coughs in the penalty area, Rooney picks his nose and flicks bogie into the crowd, where they immediately auction it off. You actually can't get away from it and still have a contact with society. So thank you Wayne for retiring from international football. Hopefully there will be less hype from now on.
Oh balls. Just seen the latest Betfred advert on TV with Stuart Pearce.... jeez, are they all that desperate for cash these days. I don't like it when I see these ex-heros promoting gambling. Always leave a bad taste for me.
Just seen the goals fromthe Liverpool game tonight, and am wondering if anyone else gets the same anger build up inside them at the following type of goal: Liverpool's 4th - Henderson chases down a poor pass across the Hoffenheim defence. He closes down the poor touch from the next defender and wins the ball off him. The then runs through on goal and, when faced 1-on-1 with the GK, squares it to Firminho who scores an easy goal. Firminho then runs off in the other direction from Henderson celebrating as if he's God's gift to football, and Henderson should've paid an entrance fee to be so close to such a natural born goal-scorer. Maybe it's just me, but really annoys me when players score becuase of the efforts and then teamwork and generosity of their team-mate before claiming all the glory for themselves. You can see why most players would choose to go for the selfish option of shooting rather than passing in a similar situation
It doesn't matter, they'll get to the last 16 and get knocked out by Bayern, Barca or Madrid. Or they would if they were in it.

I feel for them there. Liverpool and United scrape through (particularly MU) and they have comparative walkovers.
