You're failing to see the logic from others because Man Utd are the other team though. The ones arguing with you want second, they're not saying anything but a Man Utd win as you suggest (bar RHC).

Spurs can only catch is if we allow them to. We need Man Utd to **** up if we want to catch them. #logic #ambition

David Wagner was Klopp's best man when he got married, so, we were unable to see special goal celebrations of Klopp
    yesterday.

    Anything is possible with us.

    We need 9 wins. = 50+27=77points.

thats 4 bad results possible including spurs doing us over.

Spurs are on 45 so they need 78 say to make it easy to catch us. thats 33 points out of their now 14 games. Or 11 wins out of 14.

This really comes down to how many mistakes each club makes and we make a LOT. (well relative to top top club i suppose) we can win 9/13, spurs then need 11/14

    turn the screw.

If we happened to win the game between us as well then we need 8/12 to get 77 but spurs suddenly need 33 our of 13 and thats getting on for league winning amazingness.

11/13 results. amazing form... should we win and then win 8 others.

we need to push ourselves on. Cheslea might fall down here and give us 3rd.

To me, we still have difficult games including Merseyside derby, united away Chelsea away are not easy. Tottenham at home included..These games are not going to be easy too, away to Crystal Palace away to West Brom and away to Southampton.

It's realistic ambition for this season as it currently stands ....well, unless you look at our midfield <laugh>

But we've now got Spurs into the mix as I predicted. They could even jump to third if they beat us. The way they demolished the mancs it is not impossble is it? :bandit:

We now have four teams fighting for three places. "be careful of what we wish for..."

A (goalless) draw would have been a better result for us, but Maureen's gob was worth it :emoticon-0136-giggl

Really impressed of how Spurs totally dominated the mancs. They played fluent penetrating football while the mancs were slow. If they keep their form they are real contenders for top 4. They can beat anyone (including City) at Wembley.

I think we are only having that argument because it is the mancs we are talking about. The whole equation is biased because we love seeing them lose. If it were Leicester for example in their position we wouldn't have thought that way.

Who in their right minds would think it is a better situation now? The rival teams have now bunched up. With Spurs in fifth on 48, Chelsea 50, LFC 50 and the mancs 53. With a Spurs loss which some said was the best outcome of THIS match, we would have had Spurs 45, Chelsea 50, LFC 50 and MU on 56.

And with that victory Spurs are building a head of steam that could lead to them jumping over us this weekend. If that happens then we are definitely 5th. And will be keeping our fingers crossed for others to trip up. The mancs and Chelsea have winnable games. The gap to second will be 6 points.

Did we really want this current scenario? If like astro you think our team is so good that we should be in 2nd then you'll rejoice. But the realists won't and would be apprehensive of who are just breathing down our necks.

Anyway we are where we are. We have to beat Spurs and secure that 4th place while fighting for the 2nd now. Everything suddenly look more precarious.

I'd have said exactly the same no matter who was in second. It being Man Utd no baring on it. Same goes for quite a few other posters from what I've read.

Not everyone is hung up on Man Utd mate.
