I think you have a good shout but city just seem unstoppable at the moment.

Edit: totally forgot city out so very little to stand in your way, on your day you better than spuds so think you will win it :)

I don’t succumb to this Jose is defensive and boring tosh Tbf

I think he is very pragmatic and his goto tactic is defensive but you were playing good stuff against the lower league Prem teams earlier in the season then you somehow lost your way.

No idea what has gone on with pogba cause earlier in season I thought he was looking every inch the player you bought.

As for sacking him - that would be crazy atm
No idea who you could get to replace other than a make weight like ancelloti

I actually totally agree with this.
I think had he attacked tonight you would have won at a canter.
I really thought you would come after Sevilla tonight after the result at weekend
    Very odd

You must have missed all those Fergie time goals that Sunderland scored under Keane.

Ahh right, so late desperate goals are the United way, gotcha <ok>

My idea of the United way was to steamroller teams :emoticon-0100-smile

The disappointment is that the team is so much less than the sum of its parts and there is no desire or urgency.
Playing within themselves with a defensive mindset to beat a bottom half PL team narrowly seems to be the height of their capabilities.

What happened tonight was disgraceful and totally unacceptable. I said I would only comment on his tactics after the game. How the **** can we have a situation that Sevilla deserved their win at OT?

No one could argue that the tactics he used over the 2 games were dreadful and unworthy of a club like United. He put a strong team out against Chelsea and the RS. Yet against Sevilla he put a strange and untried one. Whenever lingard and Rashford started the team was dreadful. On top of it fellaini and Matic just deprived the team of creativity. We played like the away team against a team of limited ability. JM has to grow some balls!

However even if his tactics were ****, you would really struggle to explain the lethargy of the players. Sanchez played as if he didn’t want to be on the pitch. Pogba when he came on was **** but worse his attitude was dreadful and whilst fans were expecting him to take the game by the scruff of the neck he played as if he couldn’t be bothered. If he continues like this, I don’t want him at the club.

There is defeat and defeat. Some you accept because you know you’ve come across a team that was inspired, strong or lucky and your team gave all. We had less possession, fewer shots against a team Sevilla at old Trafford. A total disgrace.

This could be a turning point for me. The turning point under LVG was a lifeless draw against PSV. This is as bad. I know the club won’t sack him whilst the CL position is not secure. But once it is secured, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was sacked. The only thing that might save him is an FA cup and second. Unless he changes his ways his stay at united will be limited.

What was disappointing for me was how the team played with fear. Fearful of that away goal. What I was hoping (against hope) was the team would go all out for the win. Surely there was no room for any hesitation. Just go all out for the win. Forget about defending. If we had played for 30 -40 minutes how we played in the last 15 we would have won.

Tonight JM was hoisted on his own petard. His tactics worked against Chelsea Spurs or the RS but came up a cropper against a side that kept the ball really well.

    We got hammered by Spurs.

You need to stop making excuses, beating other also rans like Liverpool is not a badge of honour.

    They're ****.

Beating them makes us marginally better.

    Marginally.

The funny thing is, this week Mourinho attacked Frank De Boer calling him the worst manager in PL history, for De Boer saying Rashford would do better with a different manager.

He may well be the worst manger in PL history, in terms of his record, but I completely agree with Frank De Boer.

I think the club needs to go all out to get Pochettinho from Spurs in the summer.

There is so much talent and potential in our squad, but Mourinho is ruining that.

I just can't believe Fellaini started tonight. It is actually hilarious.

best team gone through .. we didn't deserve to win .. they closed us down and we kept giving the ball away cheaply under pressure
Pogba should be ashamed of the way he is playing

Jose need to have some balls and start playing football .. am tired of way we play so safe and end up losing instead of attacking them and putting them under pressure

The interesting thing is that had Sevilla scored earlier, like in the first half, he would have got away with it. With a whole second half dedicated to attack he would have come back. Conceding the first so late in the game and that second goal killed any hope.

Looking forward, the more worrying thing is Pogba. He looks completely disinterested and has been off like a sulking schoolgirl since Sanchez arrived. Looking back, it is possible that Sanchez could turn out to be a poisoned chalice. One of them will simply have to leave.

I did say if we can’t beat Sevilla at home we don’t deserve to go through. We definitely don’t when we got beaten like this. Sevilla came with the right tactically plan and outsmarted United. It is one thing attacking at home and another trying to play a completely unsuitable game at home.
