You should have had that bet Mr van Gerwen.

You could have bought a new suit.

<laugh>. Fair play - can’t deny he divides opinions. I just hope he speaks up a bit more about certain things when he walks. Though he’ll probably be criticized for not doing so when with Charlton.

It’s best for all parties if he leaves come the summer, but he’s not an enemy of the club nor it’s fanbase IMO.

My own theory is that Robinson leaked this news today to force the issue, else primed Rich Cawley. The timing speaks volumes for Robinson’s immaturity & lack of professionalism - we still have 10/11 games to play and a mathematical chance of promotion. Barely 3 weeks ago KR was publicly rejecting the Barnsley job by saying he would be staying at Charlton “until I am told I am not wanted”. What changed ? Only more bad results & the fans turning on him. A bottler & a coward in that case.

He’s made his position untenable and he is going to get stick if he does turn up in our dugout v Plymouth.

On a wider note, we really have become a sad basket case of a football club on every level. Curbs must wince.

Having paid to watch the last few games again, yes, I think he is a useless kunt.

22 wins from 63 league games in the third division.

Nowhere near good enough. Our poorest 3rd tier manager in living memory aside from Russell Slade.
Spent most of his time creating the myth that he was the fans' champion. Utter bollocks.
The man achieved nothing, he deserves nothing.
A failure - only the most recent in a long line.

If he actually walked out surely that would make Roland less likely to cling on?

When judging any manager over the last 3-4 years it’s fair to say there is more to the story.

    Except Carol. That’s best forgotten.

Don’t blame him to be fair. It’s a case of he’s ****ed if he stays and ****ed if he goes.

If indeed we have new owners, they certainly don’t want an underachiever and probably wants a bit of job certainty. Can blame him I’d do the same in my professional career.

If he stays, and sale does not go through, we are soooooooooooooo ROYALLY ****ED next season. Literally need more than 10 players to come in, not only to gain promotion from a league one, but to permanently survive in the championship. And let’s face facts, R.D. is so bloody cheap, he has an entire dedicated season on Extreme Cheapskates, and will not cough up dosh for that.

Matt Wright kicking off about KR choosing to work for RD, all while he has former colleagues/friends who work there. #logic

If Duchatelet is still our owner when next season kicks off we are royally ****ed whoever our manager is.

One of the more hilarious lines Robinson came out with a few weeks ago was that Charlton will be able to "do whatever it likes" in the Summer 2018 transfer window because overheads have been cut back so much since he has been our manager.
This is clearly intended to mean that the Club will be able and willing to buy expensive, quality players.

Every Charlton fan knows that this kind of talk is total horseshit.
If Duchatelet has told him something along those lines and he actually believes it he is a gullible fool.
If he has been told this and knows it is not true but decided to pass it along to fans anyway, then he is worse than a fool, he is collaborating.
If he just made it up off the top of his head then he is a liar.

So, our revered Gaffer is either
    1. A fool
    2. A collaborator
    3. A liar
Or a combination of these things. Maybe all of them.

This is from Ketts, he reckons that Robinson will not be in charge on Saturday.

All has not been right with Karl Robinson for some time. The last couple of games have seen the Addicks produce ‎two abysmal performances, but the normally animated manager was fairly quiet on the sidelines.

Nicky Ajose was onside when he put the ball in the net on Saturday, but he was flagged offside by the assistant. Robinson barely mentioned it at his post-match press conference, when he would normally be apoplectic by such a decision.

He has now had his resignation rejected twice by Roland Duchatelet. Robinson is the longest serving Charlton manager in the Duchatelet era, but he was unlikely to be in the hot seat next season.

It has been reported that the groups trying to buy the club want to install their own manager. If Duchatelet does still hold the reins, it seems likely he will make a change too. Robinson said pre-season that he expected his side to be promoted at the end of the season, so anything will be seen as failure.‎

So why has the owner knocked back his manager's resignation?‎

Almost certainly money. Duchatelet has probably rejected the terms of Robinson's resignation.

Robinson was promised funds would be made available if his team was in with a chance of promotion in January.‎ Presumably because he was trying to sell the club, Duchatelet did not give his manager any funds.

Robinson may feel that because he has kept that Addicks in contention without an injection of cash in January, he is entitled to a pay-off.

Duchatelet will also probably be looking for compensation from Oxford, as Robinson's contract has a year to run.

So what of Charlton, who will take charge for the last ten games of the season? Johnnie Jackson in a caretaker role, possibly assisted by Jason Euell may be the route the club takes. ‎

‎The situation has a way to run yet, but what is certain, is that Robinson will not be in charge on Saturday.‎

I hope we don’t go down the sentimental route to appease the Wallys in our support and give it to Euell & Jackson.

We desperately need fresh coaching ideas, new voices and tactics.

I’d be prefer Harry Kewell or even Harry Secombe to Euell.

Euell is doing a great job with the U23s but I would leave him there. We need a caretaker Manager until Robinson leaves the Club and new owners take over. I would like it to be Jackson and Bowyer.
When we get a new Manager I would like it to be Nathan Jones, or if Shrewsbury dont go up, Hurst.

Hurst has done a great job at Shrewsbury & is bound to be sought after this summer.
I wouldn’t keep Bowyer - equally as culpable as Gobbo in terms of our ****e tactics this season.

If Robinson is out by Saturday it will be an in-house appointment as caretaker. There's no-one at the club who is capable of going out and appointing a new manager from that big world out there, unless you count Murray, who will no doubt have noted that Dowie is available. Euell has already turned the gig down once, and it would have to be Jacko, there's no-one else, is there?
