We will miss big dave winfield at the back for this game on tuesday night and my preference to take his place would be leon if he is fit.as far as i know rendell is struggling to be fit for this one so maybe strevs up front.jp cant be too far off from getting back into the first team squad so its all looking very good for the second half of the season.all we need now is for beever to start scoring something which i think he deserves for all his effort he puts in.a tough game to call because cheltenham are doing well on their travels i predict a 1-1 deaw but obviously want a blues win ,any thoughts?

There seems to have been an improvement in the way we play at home since Christmas which has got the crowd going. If the crowd get going from the start this will give the team a lift. I just hope the 2-3 changes in the line up don't effect the way we play, unless we play better and score more goals!!! I'm going for 2-1 Blues!!!

If we can keep Thomas quiet then we should win 1-0 or 2-0. I expect him to get an early goal and, hopefully, we will pull one back before going on to win 2-1 or 3-1. That's assuming our new defender is as good or better than Winfield and that their new striker (Green) on loan from Oxford isn't too hot. As far as I can see he's only scored one goal for Oxford and that was in the 6-1 win over Bristol Rovers. He played against us in our 0-0 draw with Oxford : "The former Aldershot stopper made one late one-one-one save from Matt Green and two from James Constable, including a stunning tip onto the woodwork. just got home another good performance from the blues and a cracking goal from ainsworth on the volley.some of the football was a joy to watch and beever again was superb, his first touch to get the ball under control when under pressure is unbelievable,i dont really want to single any one player out as they all played well .we should and could have won by a bigger margin with the chances we created and only matty bloomfield knows how he missed that header when it seemed destined for the back of the net after some neat build up play by the blues.3 points and marching on to promotion well done to the lads tonight.
The BBC report is a bit of a joke. Wouldn't really call it a narrow win, their goal was completely against the run of play and we should have scored more. Granted they did have a couple of chances to get a late equalisier, I was certain Westwood was going to concede a penalty but fortunately he just about managed to get the ball. Some very strange handball decisions from the ref. He blew up on us a couple of times in the 1st half when there was no way either Beaver or Bloomfield could have avoided contact yet failed to see a blatent handball by one of their defenders in the last few minutes when Donnelly was through on goal. Good performance though and another wonder strike for Ainsworth.
Hi Rocky. A very good night's work from the lads. Yes it is a joy to post when you want. I was in the middle of posting on 606 earlier only to realise it was 1 min to deadline so could only post part of my intended post. It was only to point to some comments made by people on New606 and to add another site. I've just realised the time and should really go to bed or I won't get up in time to help with the horses.
i agree we are playing with confidence now and look like we can beat anyone in this division long may it continue.lewis coming into the midfield has been another superb signing gets forward and is a good tackler and has made us much stronger and more physical against teams who want to mix it,we are no longer a soft touch.its a shame the crowds are so small this side deserves better the way they have played this season.the good thing about this squad is it doesnt seem to matter who plays in the team we still play well.
