No I dont see it !! I think we will see a good crowd but nowhere near a full house!! In fact seeing HDM stating there are several interested parties ( doubt it ) us making me think we are not that close yet !!
Adkins in the HDM this morning going on about how the uncertainty of the sale could affect the January transfer window, I was quite hopeful of a sale until I read this, what's the saying "there's nothing like an old fool".
This is code for: If these tossers aren't gone before the end of the January window we aren't signing anyone. On the other hand if we get new owners they'll probably sack me anyway.
What I find it hard to get my head round is, the club’s been up for sale for four years, all of a sudden, as if by magic there’s at least three interested parties! Call me a cynic, but I think there may be another disappointing January transfer window. #****stainsout
The problem is it was never really up for sale. They said it was, but at every opportunity they played the club down as a saleable asset. Ehab was always listing reasons not to buy it. "It's not on London", "It's not in the Premier League" etc. Then whenever someone was interested he pushed them away, sometimes after stringing them along a bit first. Fact is they didn't want to sell the club until recently. Now there's no money left to take out so they really have to sell before it starts costing them money to continue owning it.
I just hope it’s not some North Ferriby style takeover where they’re still in the background. Suggesting **** to whoever comes in.
I still think they'll stay around to trouser the last parachute payment, which comes in January. Then of course, it being January, they can get whatever they can get for the likes of Jim Bowen and Camel Grossicki. Even after that they'll get someone making a small offer the club. They're quids in That's just the optimist in me though...
That'll give everyone the hump! I know, the old ones are the best, jokes, not you Kemps. I'll get m'coat.
I can believe they would try that and that it could muck up the deal. But is it even legal? Wouldn't it in effect constitute third party ownership - even though it's a sell on clause not an actual player.
Not sure if football is any different but it's pretty common in business to include a percentage of future cash flows in a sale.
Don't forget the sale of the SMC will also be part of any deal. That might be more of a stumbling block than the sale of the club.
All well and good saying they really want to sell but that's now down to how much a buyer wants to pay. They are not going to get 45 million. Also somehow we are still about 60 million in debt.
So they want to sell but are still asking an unrealistic price and adding other conditions as well ? They don't seem to have learned anything
They'll be waiting until the deal is done and then hit them with an extra £x millions for the SMC like last time.
