Looks like we might be bringing a couple more in then after all. Competition is always useful but for me, somebody needs to sort the players out psychologically. We seem to be able to beat the Cardiffs and the Portsmouths but then look pants against the lower opposition. Get that psyche sorted and then we would be a lot higher up the table. Also nice to see that Lovell can still see the merits in Liam Nash who I would like to see break his way into the team before the end of the season. https://www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/lovell-signings-possible-197071/
Sunday morning.....so now past tense. Things were looking good.... To lose 3-0 at home to the team immediately above us and in what was a 6 point game (even at this stage of the season) is nothing less than shameful......
Question: So when did Gillingham actually last pay (in transfer fees) for a player rather than a loanee, freebie or upgrading youth academy player????
Brennan Dickenson & Luke Norris I believe however there was murmurings we may have to pay a tribunal fee for Regan Charles-Cook.
Mmmmmmm not a sparkling purchase record is it????? Any wonder why we are where we are with such an appalling investment record? Just saying..........
I thought RCC was released by Charlton ? if so then no fee should be payable. Didn't we also pay a fee for the lad from Dover who got injured in pre-season and was out for the whole year.
Well at the time it was reported that Charlton had taken up an option to extend his contract there but as we offered him first team football he joined us. Although we haven't heard anymore so perhaps the extension was an urban myth.
Last notable fee was 60k for kedwell. Other fees have been really small. Reilly may have been a small fee.
Leaving it late. Plenty of other clubs seem to be able to get loan signings from higher league clubs. SL says he's happy with the squad, but if he can't get them to play consistently acceptable (never mind good) football then we're only going one way.
Will need couple players in . Less than a week left. If we don't bring anyone in and go down Lovell deserves sack and Scally deserves stick as well. No money spent again
Nash is currently on trial with Cork City so the above link seemed to be more smoke and mirrors then.
