    I think its the classic 2+2=5 newspaper thing. I think it was on SkySports online, saying that Pardew paid £1M for Lambert, and it has since paid off for Saints.

    So now the Sun has assumed that Newcastle will want to buy RL.

    Total BS if you ask me. Just the papers wanting a "bigger club" to buy another Saints player!

    Would never happen. On a long contract and I don't think he would want to play for pardew again after their reported bust ups prior to Pardews sacking

    Just a conversation regarding comments made about Saints and an individual player. Probably trying to get some of the glory for where Saints are at the moment and the way they are playing. Just another headline statement to try and unsettle the players.........Haven't read the sun in about 30 years....it was crap then just as it is now.............

    by they way i do believe this story sun is lies. but if anybody thinks that cortesse will sell our best players for un ridiclous money and sell to padrew then the have gone mental

    Typical Sun story. Lambert doing well. Pardew used to manage Southampton. 1 + 1 = 5. If Lambert had scored his three goals over 3 games this story would never happen. Does anyone honestly believe that Nicola would sell our top scorer when we are second in League with the money that promotion brings.

    It maybe absolute tosh, but it still annoys the hell out of me because it gets the question out there. It starts idle tongues wagging when we don't want it. And if it were another player, I'd also suggest that it would unsettle them. But Lambert is such a down-to-earth person, the most I think he'd feel is a little flattered.

    Saints rejected an enquiry for Rickie last Summer from Newcastle (and from Ipswich?!) after which Rickie signed a contract and stated his intention to finish his career here. Nothing to worry about!
