Isn’t it the responsibility of the buying club to carry out due diligence in terms of a thorough medical to satisfy any potential issues? Rather than the word of the selling club?
The short answer appears to be no, it needs assessing over months/years https://www.oatext.com/iron-deficiency-without-anemia-common-important-neglected.php
For me without knowing all the details, it's just part of the business. Some you win (big Harry) and some you lose.
A sensitive issue of course, you'd like to think the club has sought legal guidance before taking such a stance
The court case will only affect the clubs involved and not the player. Angus MacDonald is still a Hull City player and his wages are being paid. My suspicion is that Barnsley knew this was a long term condition and not just a temporary blip. I do feel for Angus, he has never had it easy with health and football. He was told that he did not have a career in the game when he was a Reading Academy player after he was out of action for a few months with a blood clot. I think that the whole transfer system needs to be addressed. Players having a medical on deadline day would not happen in any other industry that relies on fitness. Maybe a similar certification system to the one commercial pilots have.
Bloody hell, he’s had all his large bowel removed. I think anaemia/clots are the least of his worries at the moment. keep fighting Angus. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/cancer-angus-macdonald-second-operation-3594333
It sounds awful what he is having to go through, wishing him the best of luck and everything turns out well.
