A lot of Labour Party people think the state of Israel is behaving badly to the Palestinians. Some members, when they get into arguments about this, switch from criticism of the state to Jews generally, they conflate the two.

The issue is the Labour leadership hasn’t done much to sort this out. So whether anti Semitic themselves, the organisation is accused of being anti Semitic.

Thanks, I was not aware of this but that makes sense with previous pieces I've read about Corbyn and the Palestinians. Tamar Zandberg a member of Israels Knesset was on QandA (Question Time) this week and see expressed a similar view also saying that the recognition by Trump of the developments on the West Bank was not helpful in achieving peace and that the Palestinians have to be included and engaged in developing a two state one country solution. So expressing a dislike of Israeli actions with regard to Palestinians is only anti semitic or anti Israeli to some Israelis, not all. It was refreshing to hear an actual Israeli politician speaking in this way too often, I suspect, we just hear the more right wing views from Israel.

Not being able to articulate this clearly and resolve the issue in the labour party doesn't add to Corbyn's general appeal to the voters though.

It looks as though the Conservative Party have stood down a candidate for this reason. All I was pointing out though was that these sort of anti-islam or anti jewish taints aren't constrained to one party, or so it appears.

What you’re missing is that the point wasn’t about whether remain voters were arrogant... it was that you were arrogant - and here you are again telling us why all remain voters voted how they did.

I find the slagging off, en masse, of leave voters by remainers inappropriate... leave voters all have their own life experiences and have drawn their own conclusions on why they voted.

As for the abuse remainers get on here? I have my own life experience and my own values and my own idea of the country I want to bring my kids up in. I don’t expect you or others to understand them just as I would never claim to fully understand yours.

I can see both sides of the debate, and there are dickheads on both sides of it. Mostly, though it’s normal folk doing what they think is best for them/their families.

It’s a shame it turns into a pissing contest but that’s human beings for you.
