    Pepe admits Arsenal struggles
    Arsenal's record signing Nicolas Pepe admits he has not lived up to his mammoth £72m price tag.

    The Ivorian has struggled in north London since making his move from Lille in the summer.

    And Pepe has told French outlet RMC that he knows his start to life in England hasn't been up to scratch.

    “I would say that my start has been a bit negative. Based on my own expectations of myself, I expected a bit more. I expect more and it is up to me to work hard and make the difference in each match," he said.

    Were we ever in for him?

    I thought all the rumours were coming from the Lille side of things, basically drumming up interest in him.

    He seems a talented player but hasn't handled being a marquee signing for such a big club well at all so far. Doesn't help that the team he's joined is a complete shambles, either.

    No idea. What I meant was, Pepe would have obviously chosen us had it been straight choice between the two. We obviously didn't give him that choice.
