Hey, according to Jose the forwards are being let down by the defence.

We only conceded 1 !! today. where were the forwards? I'd say the defence was let down by our attack today.

    Did he really say that?

He’s picking Toby over Dave and Aurier over literally anyone else... Of course they’re gonna let us down <laugh>

As for the forwards, no words today. May have helped having Lucas on the right but these constant long balls aren’t helping anybody. One or two here and there I can understand but we’re literally becoming Stoke.

Jose Mourinho says Tottenham’s defensive calamities have left him feeling sorry for his attacking players.

My fear now is that, for once, we may actually spend a significant figure in January due to the fact we’ve appointed Mourinho and he’s going to want some of his own additions. - the problem being that they’ll end up being dross, and we’ll still be ****, but having spent a fortune.

I expect the social media crowd that shouted everyone down with comments like “we need a manager with an elite mentality” when Mourinho was appointed are starting to feel a bit silly now.

I knew we wouldn’t be any better off.
I bet Poch is pissing himself.

The new positive me just wants to help everyone see the bright side...

Bournemouth losing 3 nil to West Ham...remember the talk of Eddie Howe becoming our manager back before Pochettino was sacked?

    Dodged a bullet there...lucky huh?

It’s just the new manager affect at West Ham. Won’t last!

They'll just go along nicely with the summer signings then <laugh>.

Tanguy's looked great when fit though there's the problem, he's never fit for long enough. Gio seems lacking in fitness and confidence because he isn't imposing himself enough in games. Sess looks a lot slower than I expected and also seems reluctant to attack an opposing FB, often looking for the Winks-esque pass.

FWIW I still think all three will become great for us but it's hard to be positive about their impacts so far.

My suspicions were being raised when he virtually handed both his previous clubs all the points in the respective games.
His team selection in those games were atrocious and in subsequent games just short of a complete mess.
It is eye-wateringly painful to see a group of professional men running up and down the pitch so aimlessly.
I truly feel for them, all of them.

Some-one needs to have a serious talk with José because what is being dished up is not any-where near good enough,
furthermore its liable to land this great club in serious trouble. I get the impression that the excuses are already being line-up and may follow shortly.
However, It could just be that the game as José knew it, has moved on (maybe now out of reach), as most things in life eventually do.

Another issue is the passion that made José a force seems to have disappeared. It least I don't see it or hear it.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong. José its over to you, show us what you are made of.

Did you lot enjoy our rendition of 'just a **** Pochettino' aimed at your manager today? <whistle>

Bloke really is a ****ing idiot though, I've never liked you lot but almost feel sorry with him in charge.

Not seen it mentioned here but his booking was for this:

Probably asking the guy to tell your defence to let us score a goal.

Tanguy's fitness issues are a real shame. Until he went off, he was playing on a wavelength above anyone else on the pitch. But his injury record is worse than Dembele's at the end of his time here. To make matters worse, I read this week that a number of French clubs rejected him as a trainee because of concerns over his fitness. Did we not do any homework in the 2 years we spent scouting him?

I thought Gio struggled to get himself up to the pace of the game but looked confident on the ball and with his excellent close control won plenty of free kicks in good areas (all of which we wasted). I feel he is the type of player who needs more time and space than the PL tends to offer but i hope I'm wrong. And our complete lack of midfield control just makes things worse for him.

As for Sess, the lad hasn't played as a FB since he broke into fulham's team 3 years ago. He had zero support from Lucas in the first half who looked utterly out of place on the wrong flank, and then in the second half he had Dele "I'm done for the year cheers" Alli linking up with him.

But the bottom line is the shape and line-up were once again wrong from the word go. And it has to stop.

I go to every away game and your lot are just a load of gobby ****es and always have been. That you clowns feel the need to gloat about your silly, infantile song, says a lot about how chavvy your fan base is.

If you had come on here and gloated about how you outplayed us, then I’d take it on the chin because you did. But to get giggly over your daft chant says to me that you need to grow up along with the rest of your happy chav mates.

I thought my post was relatively light hearted!

Only joked about the **** Poch song as I know you lot are quite divided on Mourinho. I actually thought he'd give you a decent bounce and sort out the defence but he's done neither really.

If he's not gonna sort the defence then it's hard to see what he's going to bring? Along with a squad that needs major work it's worrying times for you lot imo.

To be fair we did get a bounce for the first month or so (minus the Utd game). Defence were still **** but we were playing some really good stuff going forward and knocking in two or three in each game. Seems to have fizzled out now though.

It ain't all his fault but he ain't helping himself either. Dave Sanchez has been our best CB by a country mile but has been dropped for the last two games, whereas Toby's been **** for the best part of a year and especially this season and it's now been made worse that we're paying him about £180k. Decision to persist with Aurier just dumbfounds me though, worst RB I've seen at Spurs and I had to endure the days of Alan Hutton.

Big Jan for us. Need about three defenders at least and ideally a DM.

Here's what's obvious to me (and probably a few more posters on here) but eludes our manager

Poch knew the centre midfield was weak so sought to remedy it by playing a midfield three, however the crucial mistake he made was having us play 4312 when 4321 made more sense and ended up exposing our fullbacks

Steptonho seems to know central midfield is weak but is addressing it the wrong way, as he's either playing the Dier/Sissoko pivot that strengthens midfield but is shockingly uncreative or various pivots that are creative but can't defend (Winks/Sissoko, Ndombele/Lo Celso, or Ndombele/Sissoko) which makes it clear that a midfield three is necessary until we get a DM who can actually steel the centre so Ndombele/Lo Celso/Winks can actually play their game
