Marcelo has been totally committed to Leeds for 2 years now and that's involved leaving his family and friends on the other side of the world without one word of complaint ever.

I agree with that which is why for both ours and his I want promotion this season. For ll his brilliance his critics always say, his teams always fade and ultimately never achieve success. No doubt this will be aimed at him again if we **** up again this season, as is looking increasingly likely as present results go.

 

Failure only looks likely if you look backwards.

One game at a time has to and will be the focus.

Trust me...we are actually playing well, results will turn if we keep doing the right things often enough.

 

Cant imagine how we'd begin to try replacing him. He will leave sometime but hopefully he fulfils all his ambitions before doing so

 

He's (Bielsa) an absolute genius.

playing well is a relative thing, the concern last season was after Christmas we still Largely dominated games created chances we didn’t take, gave away soft goals. Bielsa says he worked out what was wrong and stayed because he wanted to correct it.

I thought we were staggeringly unlucky last season, but I guess you can only be unlucky so often before you ask whether you are just inefficient in the key areas.

If we go up this year Bielsa will rightly be hailed a hero and take the plaudits - if we don’t he will rightly be deemed a failure because for all the good football, the turd polishing etc, he created a team that was better than the rest two years on the trot, had total control of running the football side of things for two years. Brilliant coach undoubtedly, brilliant manager? Let’s hope so, we’ll find out over the next few months.

Helder costa was the big signing of the summer, he’d previously targeted vydra... he sanctioned nketiah. Strikes me he’d concluded what most of us had, which was we needed some pace in the attacking third.

Personally, think we needed some guile and never replaced saiz, maybe too much wishful thinking on the part of pablo’s ability to contribute over a whole season?

Tbh I'm unsure what Marcelo will do if we miss out on promotion. I'm sure I read somewhere recently that he wanted to coach Leeds for the next 18 months.

Never had a problem acquiring away tickets in the 57 years I've been watching Leeds, had to rely on a mate for a Brentford ticket, after saying that I've only missed out on the Luton game this season, had a few close calls though due to the ticket office free-for-alls.

Looking forward to the Forest game although I fear our last visit to Griffin Park next Tuesday

Also goes a long way towards explaining some of the poor managers we’ve had in recent years. Many of them were earning peanuts compared to top managers. Like in all walks of life, you get what you pay for. Hopefully when Marcelo departs, hopefully not for years, the owner at the time will not revert to Mickey Mouse coaches but will be able and willing to finance a high caliber replacement
