FPP to take full control

Just keep it coming Smug, for the vast majority of us, snippets like yours are the only way we get to know what’s happening. Obviously things may change over time, but most people are capable of understanding that and take that into account.

If the odd few people take offence and only want to hear the facts after the events are confirmed, then perhaps they shouldn’t be on a message board.

 

There are weird people about on the internet and elsewhere mate. I've never met you...although I'd like to,I was hoping to bump into you at MK but got delayed and had to go straight to the ground....but you strike me as an intelligent bloke who is able to sift the wheat from the chaf. Spurious messages threatening legal action are unlikely to be genuine, it's hard to see the basis for any such action if you're not breaking NDAs or libelling someone. Envious individuals trying to justify their inferiority complexes is more likely the case. I would love to see this FPP thing come off,not only for the good of our club,but also to see the back of these ne'er-do-wells.

 

It most likely would, it's already having a global effect and it's still in it's infancy. Will end up as a worldwide pandemic IMHO.

 

It's pretty sad that people paint it as simply as 'thinking FPP will take over = good' and anyone offering caution or even questioning the same sources that have been wrong before is painted as a fifth column. I agree there's a place for ITK stuff, but there's also a place for saying 'virtually none of this has happened as those sources have said'

 

Agreed. I think football as a whole will be very badly hurt by it, particularly crowds and continental matches. Transfers could also be an issue, so I reckon trying to get a bunch of foreign investors into town from SE Asia may become more of a potential issue.

 

It'll not be that bad Sid, Southend will be in League 2 next season.

I did in September/October etc. I think when you re-read that thread and the genuine levels of anger, upset etc that people had because they were told it was a done deal, that nothing could stop it etc, it's worth just saying that we've been here before and it hasn't panned out as we were told. It's just two sides to the coin. Of course I want FPP to come in, I just think if our owner says it's unlikely, that's a better source than anyone, particularly ones that were proven to be inaccurate before.

What?!? Surely if you post something on a message board the whole point is that it's going to be debated. Or is it now the case that a claim of ITK means that we all have to sycophantically bow down to that claim and attack anyone who tries to debate the information?

Smug has clearly taken needless **** for what he's posted and I admire his persistence and fortitude in trying to keep the information that he receives flowing.
Kittens has clearly gone too far with his questioning of that information at times and it's become tedious but as far as I can see, he's only trying to get a clearer picture of what's going on and to add to the debate. If he's got relevant experience, why shouldn't he be allowed a voice?

This whole subject has become really strange.

 

To be fair I think it's more a case that we all know nothing has happened yet. People are just using this thread for speculation and discussing any tidbits that come out. We know it's not fully evidenced, we know it might not happen, but it is what it is. A lot of us know that Smug is getting bits passed onto him from others and that what he shares he does so in good faith, in a take it or leave it manner. Once the point has been made that, as of yet, we have no evidence that anything happened, I don't think theres any value in repeating it. I'd just avoid passing comment and would let others enjoy the discussion if that's what they choose to do.

Madbob is an odd one mind. He must get info (he seems a genuine enough bloke and I know he's set up SAFC related events and things with guest speakers, so it's not like he's an anonymous troll) but I have to admit, I've never seen anything he's posted come true, so hopefully he's wrong again when saying FPP won't take over

I understand all of this yeah and actually agree. What you'll see is that when I question it or point out that it's been inaccurate (which tbf I really hadn't done much of until yesterday) it starts a defensive 'no it hasn't, why do you hate Sunderland, are you a mag' style response. Seems unfair to blame me for that.
