Ellis Harrison slides in Cameron McGeehan but he just can't adjust his feet to get a shot off, before Harrison's effort is headed clear. 77 minutes.
Rumours abound that as Brett has made 99 appearances for the club, if he reaches 100, then Pompey must offer him another year's contract which they don't want to do due to his high weekly wage !

According to the Twittersphere, he's not in Jackett's plans and is training with bournemouth U-23's. The implication seems to be that he had a disruptive presence in the changing room, hence why he's literally been shipped to another team rather than just training with our academy or whatever and now that he's going the changing room is a better places, supposedly... But that's just what the Twitterers say.
Jackett knows how to get teams promoted from this division. Pompey must be putting in a lot of work on their set pieces, as yet again the goals came vía this route.
Pleased to say that my concerns that this fixture could be taken too lightly were not realised. I have just watched the extended highlights which gave vision to the concerns expressed by Woops earlier in the thread about the pitch. In the time I watched Pompey Fratton Park was also their training ground as home pitches were for most teams. The penalty areas lost their grass early in the season and remained bare. Square passing between the back four was too bigger risk so there was less possession football. It made me reflect on how separate training grounds becoming the norm has had a great influence for the good on the standard of football. Having said all that there were large bare areas on the Tranmere pitch that are not usually high wear spots. After me saying last week Cannon had become the essential ingredient in the team we get a good win without him. If he is fit for Tuesday night it will be a difficult decision for Kenny!
