so i was reading about sheff wed selling the stadium, if their owner decides to **** off, they have no stadium
    unless he lets them play
and what a great decision the city council made by not selling to the allams, otherwise can you imagine how ****ed we could be if the allams owned it
    we cant ever be evicted

like coventry, having to play games elsewhere
    for example

we could have had to play home games at scunthorpe, thank allah the allams never gained ownership

Double standards by HCC. They have agreed to sell Craven Park to the owners of HKR. What if they same scenario unfolds there ? Will HKR be sharing the KC with Hull FC ?

When HDM reported this, I thought you could substitute all references to Rovers to City and the same applied. Like you say, ****ing reeks of double standards.

What do HCC get out of hanging on to the KC?
Is the relationship with the Allams that broken that a deal could not be resurrected?
Would the Allams still be interested in taking over the KC, and if so funding the development they originally planned?
Would City supporters still 'support' such deal?
Could a third party that Ehab continually refers to, actually push harder for a deal if they knew they were getting more than a few football players?

I cant see the Council ever selling the ground to the Allams after all their untrustworthy shenanigans
    - im sure the council will just want them to do one - the way they've destroyed the team is evidence enough why they should never be trusted in any venture

I was hearing today that there was interest from a 'Mexican consortium' recently and HCC were spoken to about the availability of the stadium. The talks came to nothing so form your own conclusion. A spokesman for HCC (off the cuff) said they don't want a 'Coventry situation' developing. Not sure if that was aimed at the Allams or not. Same source told me a local interest is no longer there, even though a substantial sum may be coming there way soon. 'No longer interested, end of'.
Same source told me they themselves had spoken to someone at HCC and asked about the availability of the stadium and if a deal could be done. Walton Street is untouchable. But something could be done with the surrounding land. Source asked if the stadium couldn't be 'thrown in' if any future development gave HCC back assets totalling todays value of the KC ( which is considerably less then people may think) in the deal. 'Political suicide' meaning the sitting HCC would most likely all get voted out if this ever became a reality is how I interpreted the reply. None of this took place in an official capacity.
Stark reality is that there is little of value left to buy and even less if we get relegated. So the Allams are going no where soon.
But there is a train of thought that the club may need to go down to League 1 to re group and get a new focus to re capture the fans again.
The million dollar question is under who's ownership ?
The ownership of the stadium is a huge, huge obstacle.

    Ironic isn't it?
It was the catalyst for revival, and now appears to be the blockage to any hope of a revival.
What goes round, comes round as they say (whoever they are). Or maybe more appropriately, we've gone full circle? (beyond coincidence again eh? :emoticon-0105-wink: )

The problem is that Coventry had a load of other professional teams around them. At best we'd have to ground share with Scunthorpe or Grimsby. Mind you, given our gates, Ferriby could probably accommodate us.

Martin Fish seriously had us down to ground share with Scarbourgh.

Perhaps the council insist on only dealing with people who meet a certain level of decency, honesty, trustworthiness and respectability.

Thinking back to said events it became obvious the Allam’s did not like the word ‘ No ‘ back then..and almost certainly still don’t now.

The club buying the stadium has never been an option has it ?

I guess not, assuming the view they wanted it for nothing was correct!

Would be nice to own it and one day change a few things but as said above in hindsight maybe best as it is for now. Many old discussions about this subject including size ect but whilst the KC is still a Community Stadium serving the local people and beyond I don’t see how it could be sold to one particular sport.

It would be good if somehow the KCOM stadium could be separated from the all weather pitches and indoor arena and sold as a distinct and separate item to a new investor.Price of a second hand 18 year old stadium, poorly- maintained.?

Then a new owner could evict the rugby club, the council could use the money from the sale of the stadium to build a new small small stadium for use by both RL clubs (or a combined one if/when they amalgamate) at say Ennerdale.

I mentioned about a year ago on the New owners thread about a 'concrete offer'. This is in fact the Mexicans, and what they do. If it comes off it would be brilliant given what they already do and own. The potential for City would be enormous and would be a truly family club. I know they are waiting in the wings for the right price.
