Good Morning. It's Friday 13th March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road. EFL latest on corona Virus Following extensive talks between government officials and the FA / EFL, an agreement was reached that all remaining games would proceed as normal, albeit this could change in an instant! Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, rumours have been widespread that Football's governing body will slap a behind-closed-doors stadium ban on all remaining games of the 219/20 season. please log in to view this image German FA proposal to Corona Virus, would see Leeds automatically promoted The German Football Association (Deutscher Fussball-Bund) are considering a proposal if the remaining games were called off, and the repercussions it would have. According to German outlet Express.de, the proposition would mean there would be no Champion or no relegation from their top tier (Bundesliga). Instead, the top four teams from their second tier (our Championship) would all get promoted expanding their division from 18 to 22. Obviously, the Premiership already have 20 teams, and only three teams would go up from the Championship, but that being the case, Leeds would be in the Premiership for the 2020/21 season. please log in to view this image Ekuban - a 9m target for Sottish giants Rangers Ex Leeds flop Caleb Ekuban is a 9m target for Steven Gerrard's Rangers. No, IMO he was useless, if we had played him in every game he was bound to score, but he wouldn't have suited our game. Now please don't mention that donkey again.
Good morning by the way, still in isolation, temp back to normal, headaches gone, just a slight cough irritated by flem and cackling(not from the mot) in the throat, just aids, swine flu, bird flu and Ebola to sort next
Morning all... If we continued the season behind closed doors how would that affect clubs financially, some are already on the breadline? Players, staff, officials, security outside would still need paying, I’m surprised it is an option. Personally I’d scrap the playoffs and extend the season, top three go up, it would give an extension of three weeks, assuming a one month lock down that should do it. If they truly believe we need longer than 28 days then the only fair outcome is to end the season now otherwise it would only take one or two clubs having players showing symptoms and before you know it games are getting cancelled. Big game tonight, Fulham and Brentford, with rumours surrounding how the season might finish, I’d imagine Charlton v Hull is the biggest, a defeat for Hull and they’re bottom three. Saying that, a win for Cardiff and they could creep into the top 6
Hope you’re okay mate, watch out for the men in white coats, they’ll be dragging you off in the name of medical science looking for a cure
Season will be suspended if not this week then next. I hear this morning that your leading government health advisor said uk is 12 to 14 weeks away from peak infection yet. Obviously that would mean no football possible at earliest early July. Id expect a suspension of season shortly followed be cancellation in a few weeks. One thing that puzzles me though, in event of cancellation, what is PL board made up from? Would every club in league have one vote? If they did probably most clubs from 10th to 4th from bottom would be happy with their current positions and opt for cancellation.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey Why not extend the season and scrap the play offs leaving top 3clubs promoted I tthink that Fulham will be our last game before suspension
Players and even entire squads now self isolating, I don't think even the Cardiff game will go ahead at this rate.
Watching Sky Sports News, now next weeks Champions League and Europa League games postponed. France has just suspended their league, Spain did that yesterday I think and of course Italy already have. Arsenal and Everton squads in self isolation. Falling like a house of cards. Inevitable that our leagues will be suspended, the question is will they be postponed or cancelled ? Or some new rule perhaps ? Apparently the Germans are considering cancelling their season, with no relegation from the top division and teams in promotion positions in their second division going up, increasing the number of teams in the top division for next season.
