I seem to remember Swords as the man with the pointed questions and relentless insults. The old fecker.
Meanwhile over here, numbers of positive cases continue going up. We have 2.121 cases and 22 deaths up to yesterday Friday. The infections per million of population are 430 which is quite high. They say our testing is amongst the highest in the world with something like 94% of people tested negative. Only emergency workers allowed to work and almost full shutdown apart from buying food or exercise within 2 km of your home. The scramble to get the PPE required continues and today marks the first A330 Aer Lingus flight to China to secure 200 million euros worth of supplies. There will be 60 such flights in the next few weeks. It is hard graft for the pilots as they are not allowed disembark the aircraft in China or else they have to go into quarantine. Round trip will be 24 hours. During the week Trump praised the production levels of respirators here in Ireland. Apparently 50% of the world's respirators are made here largely by U.S. companies. Trump has secured every single last machine produced here for his citizens in the U.S. America First? Even though they are made here, we have to get our's from China. EDIT - Figures for today just released. A further 14 deaths making a total of 36 and a further 294 cases giving a total of 2,415 which equates to 489 cases per 1m inhabitants.
I think you have to think back to what we were doing two weeks ago Bob. I was out at a theatre with over a thousand other people. What we are seeing now is the impact of that behaviour. If the numbers of deaths are still rising on a daily basis in two weeks time we are truly ****ed, because what we have been doing this week won’t have made a different. Germany going to maintain restrictions until 20 April at least.
Out of curiosity mate , what PPE do your Paramedics/EAC wear ? Seems to many of us over here that we are being poorly protected.
I couldn't tell you Stainesey. I have been avoiding all things medical since this started as I'm diabetic. I heard a figure of 375 healthcare professionals infected or 22% of cases amongst the total and one death. I know originally, there were some doctors who went skiing in Northern Italy and they returned to work in various hospitals infecting some of their colleagues. The fact that there are 22% of the total infections amongst healthcare staff would suggest their equipment is similar to your's over there and not sufficient.
The antibody tests will be the most revealing. Hopefully a high percentage of people will show to have already had the virus.
Not really when you consider that lockdowns take 14 days at least to be reflected in the figures, added the fact that actually infected figures are perhaps 10 times those confirmed and many deaths attributable to lack of ventilators and selective treatment. I dread to think how many in London are infected as the crowding before the lock down was widespread...
We were just saying something similar earlier. Two weeks ago I was just finishing the matinee performance and getting ready to prepare for the evening performance of the show I was in. This involved hundreds of audience members and a cast and crew of around 35, all in very close proximity. Plus, we were all being very 'luvvy' after each show, kissing and hugging and even more so at the after show party!! I guess I'm lucky, as presumably I'd have shown symptoms by now if I'd contracted the virus then.
Try a complete bodyweight workout mate. No weights or dumbells required. There are quite a few good ones on YouTube that usually only take twenty minutes. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=complete bodyweight workout
Mmm. I suppose I could have caught it earlier and not known. I have no idea what the numbers are like round my way. Although we're in the south Oxfordshire countryside, it's very much a commuter belt.
The Chinese should be supplying all this gear to the world free of charge....And I bet they don't do anything about their disease ridden wet markets either
Way too many muscles on those blokes for me. As you well know I’m an old git I don’t want to build muscle which is impossible to maintain, just a bit of core stuff to stave off the decrepitude a little longer. Have improvised with paint cans from the garage......we have a staggering amount of half and nearly unused cans in there.
